  “We hired Survey Consults, Inc. to survey our new property, and unfortunately, the experience was pretty frustrating. We initially contacted them for an estimate, and while Rob was responsive and seemed helpful, I was immediately concerned about the $325 non-refundable deposit they requested. They quoted us around $625, noting that the price could fluctuate depending on the time it took. They explained a minimum charge of $400 if they encountered issues, but the rate could escalate to $125 an hour if the job took longer. Given that the property had recently been surveyed, we hoped for the minimum. They arrived the next day and quickly located three of the four corners. However, they then spent a significant amount of time digging at one specific spot, which raised my suspicions. Despite this, they insisted the work was progressing and billed us $625, stating more time was needed. Uncomfortable with the lack of transparency and the ongoing charges, I asked them to finalize the bill and cancel their services. They proceeded to run my credit card for $562.50 without a clear total or my authorization. We even took matters into our own hands, purchasing a tape measure and metal detector and ultimately discovered the missing pin marker exactly where they had been digging! They then carefully replaced the disturbed soil, but the whole experience felt rushed and lacked clear communication.” report abuse

  “I can’t recommend Survey Consults highly enough. I went with another surveyor initially – a really fast-talking guy who made a lot of promises about his company’s history. Unfortunately, at the last minute, my closing needed a change to the survey, and he tried to double my fee! Luckily, I called Survey Consults, and they had my survey completed in just four hours, saving me money and preventing my closing from falling through.
