  John B and his team were absolutely fantastic – we couldn’t have asked for a better experience renovating our 1970s cabin on the island. Living two hours away, we needed someone we could truly rely on, and we found that in spades with them. They were incredibly communicative, completely trustworthy, and really took the time to understand our vision and budget. They were fantastic at brainstorming creative solutions and had excellent working relationships with all the other contractors in the area. The result is a stunning cabin, and we were able to move in just in time for the lake to thaw – it’s honestly made our dreams come true! We bought it in the fall, and they completely gutted and renovated the interior over the winter – we were able to start enjoying it just in time for spring!   “We absolutely loved working with Wausau Homes in Aitkin! Honestly, we were a little hesitant going into it after being turned away by a couple of other builders who didn’t seem to value our project. But from the moment we contacted John Baker, everything changed. He was fantastic – incredibly reliable, always kept us in the loop, and really took the time to understand exactly what we wanted for our weekend cabin. He helped us customize one of their floor plans perfectly, and he handled everything from coordinating the subcontractors to ensuring we stayed on budget. The whole process was so smooth and efficient, and we were amazed at how quickly the construction moved forward. It took about two and a half months from start to finish, and the final cost was exactly as we’d agreed upon.
