  “I had a really frustrating experience getting a window replaced at Capitol Glass. I brought in a window from my cabin – which is quite a distance away, about 40 miles down a dirt road and requiring a flight to reach – on Wednesday, September 4th. I was initially told it would be ready for pickup around the 6th or 10th. It wasn’t ready until Wednesday, September 11th, three days late, and then, to add insult to injury, the repair was completely botched. The window wasn’t properly sealed, it was loose in the frame, and it slid around – clearly not fixed correctly. After they took it back, they told me to come back the next day, but the issue wasn't resolved. When I spoke to the shop manager about the delay and the poor repair, he essentially blamed my initial counter person for having two days off, refusing to take responsibility for the significant delay or the faulty work. Frankly, it felt like he wasn’t willing to own the problem. Because of this experience, and considering the inconvenience of getting the window to them, I’d give Capitol Glass only four stars if it weren’t for the other window repairs this summer that went smoothly. It’s unacceptable to have a delivery date not honored, and to then deflect blame like that. ” report abuse

They really went above and beyond – the service was incredibly professional, and everyone, from Melissa at the front desk to the whole team in the shop, was so knowledgeable and patient with me. I especially appreciated their willingness to accommodate my rescheduling requests and the fact that they stand behind their warranties. I even attempted a small adjustment myself, and they were completely supportive.   “We’ve been incredibly impressed with Capitol Glass – they’re truly the best glass shop in Anchorage. As a business that relies on them for our display cases, we’ve experienced the difference firsthand. We’ve found most other glass shops in the area to be quite expensive, with quotes often exceeding $500. Capitol Glass not only offered a fantastic price – just $200, including installation – but the service was outstanding. Sean and Donny were fantastic; they visited our store twice to get the job done and were incredibly professional, reliable, and helpful. Honestly, finding employees as dedicated and skilled as they are is a real challenge, and we truly appreciate having them represent Capitol Glass.   Honestly, I was really disappointed with my experience. I wanted to test out a new window company, so I gave them a small job – replacing the mirrors in my bathrooms after a renovation. It's a good way to see how a company handles tricky, lower-profit jobs. However, they completely missed the mark. They insisted on taking their own measurements, even though I’d provided the exact dimensions. Then, they quoted me $1050 for a simple job, claiming 10.5 hours of cutting time – it was just trimming a couple of inches off each mirror! I ended up getting the same mirrors cut for $500 with a friend, and they offered a guarantee. It felt like a massive overcharge and a complete waste of time. I walked away thoroughly disgusted and, needless to say, I’ve already gotten quotes from other companies for my new windows. report abuse

  “We’ve been really disappointed with the service we’ve received regarding the replacement of our safety glass doors. We sent them off two weeks ago and haven’t heard back, or received any updates on the order. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially given our time constraints. We’ve used them in the past and appreciate supporting local businesses, but their lack of communication and follow-up makes them unreliable, and we’ll likely be looking for another provider.” report abuse

  “I was really disappointed with my experience with this business. I contacted them about a warranty issue and was met with a complete lack of responsiveness. I left two voicemails and followed up after two weeks, but no one ever got back to me.
