  We’re absolutely thrilled to share that, thanks to the incredible work of Michael Klement and the Architectural Resource team, our new home has earned the prestigious United States Department of Energy’s ENERGY STAR Certification. Honestly, it’s amazing to think that our Victorian Carpenter Gothic style house qualifies as “Green”! We went into the project with the idea that “Green” homes always had to be super modern or feature solar panels, and we were so surprised to discover how thoughtfully Michael and his team incorporated energy-efficient design and construction from the very beginning. The team really embraced the principles of “Not So Big” design, as advocated by Sarah Susanka, and, importantly, they guided us through the entire process – from the initial groundwork to the finishing touches – with a meticulous and expert approach. It was truly a seamless experience, and we feel so fortunate to have had their knowledge and guidance throughout this once-in-a-lifetime project.   Working with Michael and his Architectural Resource team was absolutely fantastic! We found them at a local home tour and were immediately blown away by the stunning design of the house they showcased – it was far superior to everything else on the tour. We were looking to expand our 1960s home while maintaining the classic look of our neighborhood, and Michael and his team completely nailed it. The whole process was so enjoyable and engaging, and we really appreciated their focus on understanding *our* needs. They consistently asked great questions and gave us plenty of chances to share our thoughts at every stage.   “I’ll be honest, I initially got interested in Michael Klement through one of his passive house tours – I was really impressed with his deep knowledge of the whole process. My husband and I decided to hire him to design our home to passive house standards, and we absolutely loved the design he came up with. Michael and his team were incredibly meticulous and took the time to really understand our needs and lifestyle. They asked so many thoughtful questions to ensure the design perfectly suited us. We’re thrilled with the finished home – we’ve even gotten a lot of compliments on it as we’ve been building.   “I can’t recommend Architectural Resource and Michael Klement highly enough. Seriously, they’re exceptional. I’m a pretty detail-oriented person myself, but Michael’s level of attention to detail is just incredible – it’s truly impressive. About fifteen years ago, I commissioned them to renovate my 1919 bungalow, and the plans they produced were absolutely stunning, including gorgeous designs for an outdoor living space with a water feature. They took the time to really understand what I wanted, and the result was fantastic. More recently, after buying another old house with a mold problem, I contacted Architectural Resource again, and they completely nailed it. After significant mold remediation that involved taking down several walls, I was struggling to figure out how to properly repair them to prevent future issues. Michael immediately provided a perfect solution that was easy to implement. Michael and his team are genuinely a pleasure to work with – they’re absolute professionals. I rarely offer strong recommendations, but I can’t think of a higher one for Architectural Resource and Michael Klement.” report abuse

  “We were absolutely thrilled with the work Architectural Resource did on our new home, the Garden Bungalow Passive House. They truly brought our vision to life, exceeding all our expectations. Honestly, we were a little nervous at first about working with a team based in Michigan, but Michael and his team were fantastic – incredibly competent, efficient, and so welcoming and easy to work with, even from a distance. They tackled the technically complex Passive House design with such depth and explained everything in a way we could easily understand. The open communication they fostered between us, the builders, and themselves was key to the project’s success.
