The team was incredibly professional, kept us consistently informed, and worked incredibly hard. What really impressed us was not only their quality of work, but also that they were the most competitively priced of the three bids we received.   “I had a home assessment through RISE Energy and Mass Save, and it quickly became a really frustrating experience. The initial inspection identified that my basement wall, where my pipes were freezing, was completely uninsulated, and revealed that several other walls in my house also needed insulation. Based on that, Mass Save connected me with 5C Energy to do the work. Unfortunately, 5C’s service was a disaster. They missed their scheduled appointment, apologized, and then came out to start the work. They initially confirmed the uninsulated bay and began plugging it with foam insulation. However, shortly after, while removing siding, they claimed the whole house *was* insulated, but without the proper scanning equipment to verify it. They had to wait for the equipment to be delivered, which felt incredibly slow. Then, to top it all off, the workers, after speaking with their boss Matt Russell, decided the job wasn’t worth doing, even though my wall with the frozen pipes remained uninsulated. Matt told them to just leave! He actually hung up on me! It was unbelievable. I tried to escalate the issue, and the representative I spoke with just offered another false explanation and wouldn’t even acknowledge that Matt had hung up on me. It’s clear this company prioritizes their bottom line over customer satisfaction. They seem willing to cancel a job if it doesn’t fit their profit goals. I strongly advise against using this company – they provided terrible service and left me with an uninsulated wall and a very negative experience.” report abuse

  Russell was fantastic to work with. After our mold remediation with RISE (who unfortunately had a really long turnaround time), he stepped in and skillfully got our project assigned to 5C within a few weeks. He kept me completely informed throughout the whole process and was always incredibly responsive to any questions I had. The 5C team did a really thorough job installing the insulation, and they even went above and beyond by adding some extra weather stripping – we were really impressed! report abuse

  “Aaron and his team did a fantastic job insulating our crawl space on Prudence Island. It was really challenging work – a very low-ceiling space and dealing with a wet crawl space on bedrock with some seeping water – but they handled it all really well. We’re happy with the vapor barrier installation and how thoroughly they sealed everything up.” report abuse

  I was absolutely thrilled with the work Jimmy and his team did. They were incredibly knowledgeable about insulation and weatherization, including air sealing, and went above and beyond to answer all my questions and tailor the project to my specific needs. What really stood out was their attention to detail and how meticulous they were with the cleanup afterward.   “The 5C crew – Toby, Ryan, Eric, and Rob – were absolutely fantastic! They spent a really productive eight hours insulating my house, and they were incredibly professional, patient, and kind throughout the whole process. Everyone took the time to answer all my questions and explain exactly what they were doing, which I really appreciated. To top it off, they even found two incorrectly vented bathroom vents that the original builders had missed, and they fixed that issue. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of their work – it’s made my house so much warmer, and I’d highly recommend them!” report abuse
