James did a fantastic job with our home addition plans. He really listened to what we wanted and skillfully navigated some tricky challenges, like the garage angle and setback requirements. He was incredibly detail-oriented and made sure everything met our vision for the house – both in terms of design and functionality. We’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an architect for a home addition project.

“I’m extremely disappointed with the work James Furkis and Furkis Architectural Consulting delivered. From the outset, James undertook a significant deviation from the original project scope without my consent, and frankly, it feels like a deliberate attempt to defraud me. I hired him to create a computer drawing based on my initial sketch and a specific set of fundamental requirements – things he was explicitly provided. Instead, he completely reworked the design aesthetics of my house, adding unnecessary brackets due to a fabricated uplift issue and ignoring my instructions. He refused to share the supporting calculations or data sheets, preventing me from collaborating with my own structural engineer, and his behavior became increasingly unprofessional and hostile when I questioned his decisions. Because of this blatant disregard for my instructions and the significant alterations to my project, I’m pursuing legal action through small claims court. I have documented evidence, including recordings of our conversations, emails, and the contract itself, that clearly demonstrate his lack of integrity and the breach of our agreement. I believe he’s exploiting my situation and attempting to take advantage of vulnerable clients. I’m confident we’ll be able to demonstrate the substantial damage he’s caused.”
