I’m so incredibly disappointed with my experience with this company. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. From the very beginning, it’s been a nightmare. They initially told me they’d cover the cost of the solar panels for the first two years, but I ended up paying for them upfront and I still haven’t received the promised checks. Adding to that, the loan company they work with, Mosaic, feels like a predatory lender. After just one year, they demanded $10,000 in tax credits, which was completely overwhelming and difficult to navigate without an accountant. To make matters worse, they damaged my roof during the installation, and they’re refusing to take responsibility. My roofer confirmed the condition of my roof should have prevented me from getting solar panels in the first place – it’s clear they were just focused on making a sale. Communication has also been a huge problem. They’re completely unresponsive, and it’s incredibly difficult to get anyone to answer my calls or provide any answers. It’s been two years of waiting for a promised payment, and they're unwilling to rectify their mistake. And finally, the insurance coverage is minimal – you’re essentially left to deal with any damage yourself through your regular homeowner’s insurance. I deeply regret pursuing this with them.

I’m incredibly disappointed with this company. From the very beginning, in April, we’ve been dealing with a completely unprofessional experience. Despite numerous calls from myself and my husband, Justin Key, no one has been able to resolve the issue of them not completing the work. We even contacted the CEO and still haven't received any assistance. It’s clear they don’t value their customers or their business. To add to the frustration, we’re being charged for solar panels that aren’t functioning, and one of them is actually shattered – it’s unacceptable. They promised to reimburse us two months ago, and we’re still waiting. Honestly, I’d strongly recommend avoiding this company if you’re considering solar panels; you’re better off finding a more reliable and responsive provider.

“I’m incredibly disappointed and frankly, furious with this company. They completely abandoned the solar installation over a year ago and haven't even bothered to finish the job or provide an explanation. Worse, they damaged our roof and porch during the process, placing panels on our deck instead of the house, causing leaks and potential structural damage – it’s now bowing and could collapse! My husband has been trying to get through to them constantly, but they’re ignoring our calls. This is a massive waste of $75,000, and I strongly advise anyone considering this company to avoid them – they’re simply scammers.”

“Overall, the experience with Design 1 was disappointing. While the installer was a pleasant person, the biggest issue was a lack of upfront transparency regarding the credit score requirements. It would have been incredibly helpful to know this information much earlier in the conversation. We were really motivated by wanting to make a positive impact on the environment and reduce our carbon footprint, but the focus shifted to financial discussions that felt a bit heavy-handed. Honestly, it felt like we were abruptly shut out when it became clear we wouldn’t qualify due to our credit score. Better communication about this upfront would have saved us a lot of frustration and ensured we had a realistic understanding of the options from the beginning.”

I’m incredibly disappointed with this company. I’ve encountered numerous issues, including dishonest sales practices and a consistently unprofessional experience. Due to these serious concerns, we’re exploring legal action and I urge anyone who has had a similar negative experience to share their story.

“To be honest, I signed the contract pretty quickly based on what the salesperson told me and my limited knowledge of solar. However, after doing some research, I discovered that my electric company in Alabama is going to make it very difficult to benefit from the system. I really wish the salesperson had mentioned this upfront so I could have made a more informed decision. Because of this, I’d like to cancel my contract.”

I cannot recommend this company. Based on my experience, they’re not delivering on any of their promises – you won’t save money on your energy bills, and the solar panels are essentially just decorative items. Seriously, avoid this company.

“I’ve been waiting since April for these solar panels to be installed, and they finally got put in during August. Now it’s September, and they still haven’t come out to complete the installation. I’m really frustrated because I’m paying for a service that hasn’t been fully delivered.”

“I’d really like to discuss these points with you in more detail. Please give me a call at 207-496-9230 – I’m happy to chat.”

This place was a real disappointment. There were just too many issues to make it worth visiting.
