  Overall, we’ve been really disappointed with our experience living in this house, which was built by Start to Finish. It’s only 9 years old, but over the last five years we’ve faced a surprising amount of significant problems. We had to completely renovate both bathrooms due to serious water damage – it turned out the waterproofing wasn’t done correctly, with large screws going through the water barrier and the flooring failing, causing tiles and grout to crack and break. We also found the wiring for the jacuzzi tub was faulty and hadn’t been properly installed. We also had to replace the gas lines because they were too small for our new tankless water heater. Frankly, we expected a home built just nine years ago to be in much better condition. We were initially told someone would come and address the siding issues and that the cost would be split with us, but we received a bill that was more than double the quoted amount, and when we questioned it, we were met with a dismissive attitude. The siding itself is now badly faded and falling apart, and the moisture from the bathroom ventilation is actively buckling it. We haven’t pursued the bathroom problems because we don’t believe Start to Finish would follow through with any repairs. It’s frustrating to deal with these issues in a relatively new home. report abuse
