  I can’t recommend Karma Home Designs highly enough – they’re truly the best in the DC area! I recently went through a really stressful experience buying my home in Alexandria, and it was thanks to Jordan and his team that everything ultimately worked out perfectly. I’d initially hired a contractor recommended by my realtor, but unfortunately, he completely dropped out of the project mid-process, putting my entire home purchase at risk. After a frantic search, I found Karma, and they stepped in to save the day. They seamlessly picked up where the previous contractor left off with the lender and started the renovations immediately after my 203k loan closed. Jordan and his team were fantastic – incredibly professional, communicated really well (they were flexible with how they contacted me – email, phone, text, even in person), and I felt completely confident in their trustworthiness. I even left for two weeks on vacation while they were working, and they continued the renovations without a single issue! The quality of their work was outstanding; they did a complete kitchen remodel with new appliances and quartz countertops, converted a closet into a laundry area, installed beautiful new wood flooring throughout the house, and even replaced the staircase. Everything was done on time and within budget. The renovation process itself was surprisingly smooth, despite a few minor challenges. Jordan and his team were so responsive and attentive that it really minimized any stress. I’m a pretty demanding client, but Karma genuinely exceeded all my expectations.   Overall, I had an absolutely fantastic experience with KHD. From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and truly went above and beyond. The entire team, from the office staff to the crew on-site, was fantastic. I particularly appreciated how smoothly they handled the administrative side – invoicing, scheduling, everything was incredibly easy and well-organized. Jordan, Brad, and Phil were always available to answer my questions and ensure I was completely comfortable with the project details. My project manager, Craig, deserves a special mention. He was outstanding – consistently communicative (via phone, text, and in-person visits), meticulously checked in on the progress, and clearly knew how to lead his team. The crew – Nafta, Leo, Darwin, and Ron – were incredibly skilled and efficient; they executed the work flawlessly and left the site spotless every time. I was so impressed with KHD’s commitment to a modern client experience, utilizing technology to streamline the process. They consistently delivered on their promises, and I wholeheartedly recommend them.   “I couldn’t be happier with the recent renovations we had done at our home in Dupont Circle! The team completely transformed our kitchen and bathroom, and the new roof – with the slate and flat sections – was done in just three days. We opted for custom cabinets and countertops, which took about six weeks, but the final result was absolutely stunning. They really nailed the open concept design and provided a fantastic warranty, giving us peace of mind.   I have serious concerns about this company, particularly regarding the work of Jordan and Peggy. Their communication has often been misleading, and I strongly advise anyone considering working with them to meticulously document and get everything signed in writing before proceeding.   I can only give Karma one star – it was honestly an unbelievable experience. I hired them last November for a full kitchen remodel, and as of July 24th, the job is *still* unfinished. From the very beginning, it’s been a complete nightmare. They’ve consistently failed to deliver on their promises, making terrible decisions about subcontractors and vendors. The designer they used had absolutely no professional design experience – she just helped her friends decorate. This led to massive problems, including 35,000 dollars wasted on completely remaking custom cabinets and a six-week delay. To make matters worse, they tried to shift the blame onto me, demanding I change my design to cover up her mistake! The project manager was completely inexperienced and unreliable, making countless errors, causing significant delays and cost overruns. Then there were the appliances – they purchased a 40,000-dollar range from a vendor using installers who were utterly incompetent, damaging the range beyond repair and leaving a chaotic mess behind. The entire process was incredibly stressful, expensive, and resulted in a ten-day delay when they simply didn’t pay the vendor. Adding to the frustration, the carpenters they hired were unable to correctly install the cabinetry, causing further delays and damage. It was a truly awful experience that cost me a fortune and completely ruined what should have been a joyful project. I would strongly advise anyone considering Karma to look elsewhere. report abuse

  Honestly, I'm incredibly frustrated. The quality of the work was terrible, and it’s been impossible to get anyone from KARMA to address the issues or provide a solution.
