  AK Paddlesports was fantastic! We rented kayaks for 16 days and got a really great deal – it was such a steal for the price. The whole family running the business was incredibly friendly and helpful; both the woman who helped us get started and the guy who assisted with unloading were so polite and welcoming.   Overall, the rental experience with AK Paddlesports was pretty frustrating. The initial delivery and kayak pickup were smooth – the representative was on time and the kayaks were in great condition. However, the walk down to the lake was significantly longer and more difficult than they led us to believe. It took us at least 30 minutes to drag the 12-foot kayaks a quarter of a mile, which was a real struggle. What really stood out was the lack of assistance. We had to carry the kayaks one at a time, taking frequent breaks, and thankfully a visiting family helped us get them to the truck. The AK Paddlesports employee didn’t even bother to load the kayaks himself! If you’re planning to paddle Eklutna Lake during this time of year, be prepared for a considerable trek – it’s a half-mile walk with the kayaks. I felt like there was a serious lack of customer service and support, and I’ll be sharing some photos of the blisters we got. report abuse

  Overall, Ak Paddle Sports was fantastic! My family and I had a wonderful time kayaking at Mirror Lake – we ended up booking it pretty last minute, but it worked out perfectly. I’d definitely recommend making a reservation online ahead of time, especially if you’re renting multiple kayaks. They offer delivery service, which was super convenient for us. The staff were incredibly friendly and really helpful. They helped us choose the right life vests for everyone, even fitting a car booster seat for my two-year-old between my daughter and me. They were so accommodating and willing to squeeze us in, even with our last-minute booking. My family would absolutely rent from them again! report abuse

  Overall, this was a really smooth rental experience. The process was simple, both picking up and returning the equipment was easy, and the equipment itself was in great condition. I especially appreciated being able to return it at 10 pm – that was a huge convenience! report abuse
