  From the start, we knew we needed a builder who truly understood our vision for our retirement home, and thankfully, we found that with Mt. Tabor Builders. We’d been let down by the previous four, who just weren’t offering the level of personalized service and attention we were looking for. Meeting Willie and Royce Eby was a turning point. They didn’t just see a project; they genuinely wanted to build *our* dream home. It was clear they were invested in creating a space for our whole family to enjoy for years to come, and that personal connection was incredibly important to us. What really set them apart was their commitment to transparency. They meticulously reviewed every detail of the contract, and we were impressed with their focus on using qualified subcontractors and ensuring everything would be built to their high standards – even going above and beyond by building to Maryland codes, despite the location not requiring them. Working with Shawn, their foreman, was fantastic. He was always approachable, calm, and dedicated to our project, especially considering the challenging circumstances of building during the COVID-19 pandemic. The framing crew, led by Alex and Cameron, were equally impressive – respectful, skilled, and it felt like they were part of the family. And Everett Eby’s work on the stone fireplace is absolutely stunning, a real focal point of the home. Honestly, the whole team – from Neal and Gary with the trim work to Chad with electrical and Wes with plumbing – consistently delivered exceptional craftsmanship. It was clear they were passionate about their work, and we truly valued the strong relationship we built with the entire Mt. Tabor family over the nine months we worked together.   “I hired Mt. Tabor to remodel my entire first floor back in March of 2022, and unfortunately, the work didn’t actually begin until August. They initially estimated the job would take 6 to 8 weeks, but it ended up taking nearly three months. Things went downhill from there – we switched superintendents mid-project, which was a huge mistake. The quality of the work was really poor; the drywall was awful, and the flooring in three rooms was installed so short that it didn’t cover the baseboards. The paint was incredibly thin, and you could clearly see all the nail holes in the door trim. To add to the frustration, we were charged an extra $30,000 beyond the original quote. After the one-year walk-through in November, they barely followed up, and the superintendent simply disappeared. It’s clear they never checked to see if the issues were resolved. This was my last experience with them, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.” report abuse

  Honestly, I’m incredibly disappointed. I’ve been waiting almost two months for an estimate, and despite multiple calls checking in, I’ve yet to receive it. I’ve been repeatedly promised an update by the end of the day, and it’s still not here. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time with this company. report abuse
