  Robert was absolutely fantastic to work with – he really helped get our home remodel project off to a great start and we’re so excited to see it come to completion in just a few months!   Robert was fantastic – truly a standout contractor. He went above and beyond on my basement project, suggesting some brilliant improvements and upgrades that I hadn’t even thought of, and adding the window was a fantastic touch that completely transformed the space. He was always so responsive and helpful, coordinating with the inspectors and contractors, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.   Robert was fantastic to work with! From our first meeting, he really took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, and he followed through by presenting us with some great design options. He delivered exactly what we requested, and even threw in a really creative alternative that we ended up loving.   “I hired Robert from Harts Design to draft the plans for my new house build, and unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing. I initially contacted him looking for a drafter, and he quoted me a one-time fee of $3400 for the design, requiring a 10% down payment at our first meeting. We met, and he provided just one plan sketch, stating he hoped it was acceptable. The initial design wasn’t great, but I thought we could work with it. I made several changes and paid the remaining balance, but soon realized the plan had fundamental issues. The main living area was too narrow, and the stairs were awkwardly placed, creating an unbalanced design with a significant bump-out. I brought in my own builder to review the plans, and he agreed it was a poor design. He suggested changes, including adjusting the garage pitch to better integrate with the house and adding a valley set for a more cohesive look – something Robert resisted. Ultimately, the design felt completely inadequate, and I found much better options elsewhere. When I showed him a better plan, he insisted on charging more for it. I decided to move on, and I wish I’d had a formal contract before paying the initial deposit. If you’re considering Harts Design, definitely get a contract in place *before* making any payments, and if the initial sketches don’t feel right, walk away – you could end up wasting a lot of money.” report abuse

  Hart’s Design really knocked it out of the park with the addition to our house. They completely revamped the layout, making the whole house much more functional, and they did it in a way that perfectly respected the original architecture. report abuse
