Ryan, Caitlin, and the whole team really went above and beyond – they treated our project with such care and attention to detail, presenting us with lots of design options and constantly keeping us informed about both the timeline and the budget.   “From start to finish, Red Barn was an absolutely fantastic partner. Ryan really took the time to understand our vision for the new building, and he brilliantly translated our big ideas into a truly innovative and stylish plan that perfectly complemented our historic 1905 home – it’s only 15 feet away! We had some tricky engineering challenges, and Ryan came up with some really clever solutions, even managing to preserve our beautiful 100-year-old trees. They worked so seamlessly with our builders, and were incredibly responsive to all the inevitable surprises that pop up during a build. And we were so impressed to have both architecture and interior design handled by the same team. Caitlin was fantastic too, connecting us with a skilled woodworker who created the stunning, custom-made table we now use for all our family gatherings – it's exactly what we wanted!   “Red Barn Architecture was absolutely critical to the success of our recent renovation in Salem. We’d been happily living in our beautiful, but increasingly cramped, 1100 sqft antique home for over a decade, and it was clear we needed to make some significant changes. From the moment we saw their work, we knew Red Barn was the team to help us realize our vision. Working on a historic renovation, especially in a busy neighborhood like Salem, presented its challenges. Red Barn expertly guided us through all the city’s zoning regulations and meetings, allowing us to create a much more functional and comfortable home while respecting the original design. They were especially adept at incorporating the historic feel of the house, even though we weren't in a designated historic district. Throughout the entire project, they were incredibly supportive, helping us select the perfect builder and providing detailed construction documents that were invaluable during the bidding process and throughout the build. Ryan and his team were also fantastic at quickly addressing any structural issues that arose during the demolition phase.   Overall, we were absolutely thrilled with the work Red Barn did on our 2nd floor remodel. Ryan and Cait were fantastic – so knowledgeable and creative! They really listened to our vision, especially wanting to preserve the charm of our Cape’s roofline while adding a much-needed kids bedroom and a beautiful master suite through the dormered back and front. It’s amazing how seamlessly they integrated the extra space, and you’d never guess they added a couple of hundred square feet. They even helped us come up with some really clever storage solutions, which was a huge bonus in a relatively small house. They have a great network of reliable contractors too.
