  Overall, I’ve been really pleased with Collins – I’ve used them for years and my new doors are working great. I recently had an issue with the sensors, and the woman I spoke with on the phone was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me troubleshoot the problem myself. She walked me through the process, and thankfully, we were able to resolve it without needing a service call. However, I do have a slight frustration. The sensors are noticeably affected by direct sunlight, causing the doors to unexpectedly go back up – it’s happened a few times, and it’s a bit of a hassle having to get out of my car to manually hold the button until they close. I’m hoping a simple sun shield will solve it, and I appreciate the technician suggesting that as a solution. Honestly, I think this issue should have been addressed during the initial installation, especially considering the price. It would have been a 5-star experience if that had been included. Despite that, I’m happy with the doors themselves and the excellent service I received from the representative. report abuse

  I had a fantastic experience with Collins! They quickly scheduled a technician to come to my house, and he arrived right on time at 8:00 AM. He was incredibly friendly and took the time to really understand the problem with my garage door. He quickly identified the issue – something about a limiter – and replaced it, which fixed everything instantly.   I was really impressed with the service I received from Collins Overhead Door Inc. Yesterday, I discovered my cables had broken, leaving me unable to open my garage door. To my relief, they responded quickly – Rick and his colleague arrived around 2:00 pm after I called yesterday evening. They fixed the problem in about 40 minutes and did a fantastic job.   I can’t recommend Collins for any home improvement project, especially on an older house like mine (a 1906 build). Throughout the entire process, they were incredibly unreliable. They initially installed the wrong doors and it took multiple attempts to get them right. Now, just a few months later, I’m already noticing issues – bolts are constantly loosening and parts are disappearing. To make matters worse, when I contacted them about missing items, they demanded I provide “part numbers” – as if they don’t keep records for their customers. And recently, a piece of wood they installed on my garage wall actually broke loose because they used tiny finish nails. Honestly, it’s hard to believe this company can still be in business. I even spoke to a neighbor who saw their truck and they shared my experience. Please, steer clear of Collins – I wouldn’t hire them again. report abuse

  I’m incredibly disappointed with the service I received. The work was done poorly – they sent the wrong parts, caused a huge mess, and even damaged my garage ceiling. Worse than that, despite multiple calls and requests for different technicians, the same two people kept returning to fix the problem.
