“I was so pleased with the entire experience, particularly the installation crew. Chance, Matt, and Todd were fantastic – they really took pride in their work and immediately put me at ease. They were incredibly thorough, cleaned up perfectly after themselves, and even left everything looking better than before. Honestly, the new windows are fantastic! My house looks so much more modern, and the drafts are completely gone. The noise from the highway is also significantly reduced – it’s a huge improvement. I couldn’t be happier and I would absolutely recommend McDaniels for any window needs. And I want to give a special shout-out to Marty, my sales representative, he was great too.”

“I’m incredibly disappointed with this business. After waiting 14 months for windows and still haven't received my deposit refund, I was left with no choice but to file a police report. It’s clear there’s a serious problem, and I’ve heard from other customers that they’ve had to do the same. I strongly advise against doing business with them.”

“It’s incredibly frustrating to hear about the issues my mom experienced. She waited nearly a year for her windows, only to have the installation scheduled for October 4th canceled at the last minute due to an unforeseen problem with the order. Adding to the disappointment, they also lost her business and mine – a really unfortunate situation.”

“Overall, we’re really disappointed with the final installation. Despite a promised return to finish the job, there was a change in the team and no one followed up. The door is noticeably crooked – you can see the gap at the top and the tight fit at the bottom in the photos. We’ve used their services before, and this experience has been particularly unsatisfactory.”

I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience with McDaniel Window and Door. For years, the company had a solid reputation in the Shoals area, largely thanks to Mike McDaniel’s long-standing ownership. However, things have changed significantly. Now run by Mr. Watkins, his stepson, the quality of service has plummeted. I placed an order for ten replacement windows, expecting the familiar standard of care I’d heard about. Instead, I encountered a series of serious problems, starting with significant delays – it took thirteen weeks to receive eight of the windows. The installation itself was shockingly poor. The installers left a huge mess, damaging my hardwood floors, and the window frames themselves were flawed: bowed, dented, and leaking. I’m deeply regretting not doing my research before choosing McDaniel Window and Door, particularly concerning Mr. Watkins. Had I known about the issues others have reported, I would have made a different decision. Ultimately, the experience was marked by poor communication, unacceptable delays, and a complete failure to deliver on a promised service. I would strongly advise anyone considering McDaniel Window and Door to thoroughly investigate Mr. Watkins’ background and reputation before entrusting them with a project.

“I was incredibly disappointed with my experience with this company. From the start, things were incredibly disorganized. I got an initial quote, took it home to discuss with my husband, and when I returned a week later to place my order, the salesperson didn’t have any record of it. We ended up having to draft a completely new quote and paid a deposit, but the prices didn’t match up when we got home. Then, the salesperson called me multiple times saying there were errors in the paperwork and the final price would be higher. To make matters worse, they initially told me it would take six weeks to deliver the windows and doors, which aligned perfectly with our contractor’s schedule. But then, they informed us just days before delivery that it would actually be another three weeks! We were left with open holes in our house for nearly a month, and finally, when the windows and doors arrived, the final price was significantly different from the agreed-upon amount. I had to escalate the issue to the manager to get them to honor the original quote. Honestly, it was a complete mess, and I was shocked by how this company operates. I expect a company to keep its promises and stick to the agreed-upon price, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend them – there are plenty of other local options.”

“I’m so incredibly disappointed with the experience my parents had replacing their kitchen/den window. They ended up paying significantly more than they were initially quoted, and the process was a complete nightmare. The promised four-week installation stretched to nine weeks, with constant delays and unfinished work. They started the job on a Thursday and never returned, leaving a huge, uncovered hole just before a forecasted rainstorm – my dad had to take care of that himself. When they finally did return, a single installer couldn't handle the window’s size and left again. It took another week for them to complete the job, and unfortunately, the window now leaks in the bottom left corner. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend using this company.”

“We had such a fantastic experience with this company! We recently bought new windows and are absolutely thrilled with the results. Marty McCain was fantastic – he really took the time to walk us through everything and made the whole process so easy. The installers were also top-notch; they were professional, cleaned up after themselves, and were incredibly polite. Overall, a really great job – we’d definitely recommend them!”

“We’re absolutely thrilled with our new windows and French doors – they’ve made a huge difference! We especially want to commend the installation crew; they were fantastic. They were incredibly polite, really respectful of our home, and just genuinely great people to have around. Even though it was freezing cold outside, they didn’t miss a beat. They even joined us for a “New Window Thanksgiving” meal and offered to help clean up afterward – it was such a thoughtful touch. Thanks so much to McDaniel Window and Doors for a truly wonderful experience!”

“I’m really disappointed with these doors. They look beautiful, but they’re completely unreliable. Every time there’s even a little wind, they swing open wide, and it’s gotten to the point where we have to barricade the front door with a chest before we go to bed. Honestly, you buy doors to feel safe, and these just aren’t delivering on that. We’ve tried to get McDaniel Windows and Doors to help us fix this, but it’s been a nightmare. We’ve called repeatedly, but we’ve been constantly told that the people who could actually help were ‘out of office.’ It’s been over a year since we requested a second door knob to be installed, and no one ever showed up! It’s clear they’re not interested in resolving the problem, and we’re stuck with a pretty, but utterly useless, front door. I strongly recommend going with a different company – you’ll definitely want to avoid this experience.”
