“We hired Rockaway to completely remodel our bathroom, and while the overall work was acceptable, we ran into a major problem with the cabinet paint – it started peeling off shortly after they finished. We contacted them, and they admitted the cabinets hadn’t been properly prepared before painting, which is why the paint didn’t stick. Unfortunately, the owner, Barry, then became defensive. He insisted it wouldn’t work and that we’d have to replace the doors and drawers, despite having included cabinet refinishing – sanding, prepping, and painting – in the original contract. He offered no explanation for this shift and seemed more interested in avoiding warranty claims than in resolving the issue. Adding to the frustration, he suggested just touching up the paint, which felt like a quick fix rather than a real solution. It was clear he wasn't committed to quality work. We also had issues with our master shower, which was done before the cabinet problem arose. While we didn't have the budget for a full bathroom renovation at the time, Barry pressured us to let him do the shower as well. There were further problems with the shower head installation, including a leak that required multiple attempts to fix. Throughout the entire process, we only interacted with Barry and his project manager, and it felt like he wasn't genuinely invested in our satisfaction. Based on this experience, we wouldn’t recommend Rockaway – there are plenty of other contractors in the DFW area we’d suggest instead.”

“We absolutely love our home thanks to RockAway! When we needed to create a more accessible space to welcome our dad, they completely transformed our small house. Mr. Thombs was fantastic at maximizing the space and making it truly functional for our family. The remodel included updating both bathrooms, adding valuable storage, new flooring, and even insulating the attic and replacing the siding – it all looks and feels amazing. The RockAway team was incredibly professional and trustworthy; we never worried about them while they were working. We especially appreciated the secure lockbox for keys. A few years later, they installed new windows, and they’ve made a huge difference – the house is so much quieter and more energy-efficient. We wholeheartedly recommend The RockAway Company to anyone needing a remodel and we definitely plan to use them again for our upcoming kitchen project!”

“We were so impressed with Geoff – he did a fantastic job installing beams on our 16’ ceiling. Honestly, we’d been bounced around by six other companies, leaving us in the dark. We’re so glad we called Rockaway first and will definitely be using their services again!”

“I just want to say a huge thank you to Rockaway Disaster Services. They were absolutely wonderful – so kind and professional. I’ve been struggling with my health and mobility lately, and dealing with this house damage after the disaster could have been incredibly overwhelming. They really went above and beyond to make the whole process as smooth and easy as possible for me.”

“I had a really frustrating experience trying to speak with someone. Blake answered the phone and, unfortunately, hung up on me four times. His behavior was incredibly rude and I wouldn't recommend contacting them.”
-
“This Rockaway bid of $47,000 was significantly lower than the other offers we received, which were all around $10,000. It’s clear they were able to deliver the same – or even more – work for a substantially reduced price.”
-
“Unfortunately, the project manager’s visit didn’t lead to any actual work being completed; I ultimately had to take over and handle the tasks myself.”
-
“The remodel of the master bathroom turned out absolutely beautifully – a really impressive result!”
-
“This team seems to prioritize making others happy over making the most effective decisions. While a positive attitude is valuable, it’s important to ensure actions are still aligned with the best outcome for the situation.”
-
Seriously, avoid this place. It’s a terrible experience – you should definitely steer clear.
