  Honestly, we were completely devastated when a frozen dishwasher caused a flood while we were out of the house – it was a nightmare! But from the moment Paul from Buildbak arrived, everything changed. He was so calm, knowledgeable, and just genuinely kind, which immediately put our minds at ease. Then Pablo, our site manager, stepped in and was absolutely fantastic. He patiently answered all of our (many!) questions and concerns, and he really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with every step of the process. Buildbak were truly professional, caring, and dedicated to doing a fantastic job. We couldn't have asked for a better experience – we highly recommend them. report abuse

  Pablo Murillo, Hamel’s project manager, was absolutely fantastic. When a washing machine overflow caused a huge mess in our basement and first floor, he stepped in immediately and took complete control. He got us a quick estimate, handled everything with our insurance company, and even managed to get the majority of the repairs done before Christmas – which was a huge relief. The crew he brought in was incredibly professional, kept the work area tidy, and the quality of their work was outstanding. What really stood out was how understanding he was of our situation, especially since our daughter was getting married the following week with family visiting from out of state. Having the basement repaired was absolutely critical, and Pablo made it happen seamlessly. He was always responsive, answered our questions promptly, and truly turned a really stressful experience into a positive one.   Buildbak truly went above and beyond for us during a really challenging time. We had a significant issue with our sewer pipes, which unfortunately led to the need to replace all the floors in our unit. However, thanks to Steve Reesor’s incredible leadership, Buildbak was able to get everything back on track. Steve worked tirelessly to resolve the problems with both the plumbing company and the Town of Brookline, and he also skillfully navigated the process with our insurance adjusters to ensure we were fully compensated. The quality of the work itself was outstanding – everything was completed on schedule and to a very high standard. Communication throughout the entire project was excellent, and we immediately felt confident that Buildbak had our best interests at heart. They provided invaluable peace of mind during a stressful situation, and we wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing property repairs, especially if you have an insurance claim. report abuse

  We were so relieved to have Build Bak by the Hamel Company step in to fix the water damage caused by a leak from our 2nd to 1st floor washer. Bill, our project manager, was fantastic – incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire process.   Overall, The Hamel Company did an absolutely fantastic job dealing with the extensive water damage we had caused by a leaking dishwasher. The problem had gone unnoticed for a long time, eventually leading to a collapsing garage ceiling, and they handled everything – from the initial remediation to the complete rebuild of our kitchen. What really impressed us was that their subcontractors were incredibly skilled; they were able to save our beautiful kitchen cabinets and marble countertops, which would have cost us a fortune to replace. It was a really complex job requiring a lot of different skills – water damage repair, drywall, plumbing, and more – and every single one of the subcontractors we worked with was professional, hardworking, and polite. To top it all off, they even sent in a cleaning crew to thoroughly sanitize the kitchen after everything was finished.   “I can’t recommend Edward Hamel and his team highly enough. We were completely devastated when we experienced a major flood in our finished basement due to a septic pipe failure, but Ed responded incredibly quickly – within 24 hours of our call. He even had a detailed estimate ready for our insurance adjuster within a day, and thankfully, it matched the insurance company’s assessment. Their crew did an absolutely fantastic job removing all the damaged drywall and flooring, and they completely renovated the space with new drywall, baseboards, flooring, and paint. The drywall work was particularly challenging because of the many angles and corners, but they tackled it expertly. We were amazed to have a brand new basement back within just a week of the initial flooding – it really got our life back on track, and we’re so grateful for their swift and professional service.” report abuse
