  Jon and his team at Grossnickle Construction were absolutely fantastic! We were so impressed with the quality of their work – we got to see several of their homes and spoke with the homeowners, who were all thrilled with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. They really went above and beyond, keeping us informed every step of the way. My husband, who works in construction himself, was particularly blown away and said they exceeded his expectations.   Honestly, I’ve spent 35 years in the home building industry and I never thought I’d personally hire a contractor. But with my busy schedule, I decided to go with Grossnickle Construction, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. They were fantastic – the scope of work they offered was exactly what I needed, the quality of their workmanship and the finish work was outstanding, and their prices were incredibly fair.   “We’ve lived in our Grossnickle Home for two years now, and unfortunately, we can’t recommend them. We chose Grossnickle based on a recommendation from our real estate agent, Sue Kelly, and we were impressed with the homes they had under construction. Plus, their prices were lower than some of the other builders. However, we’ve been really disappointed with the quality of the work. The finish work and the subcontractors they used were subpar, and we’ve been largely ignored since moving in – they haven’t even scheduled a final walk-through after a year. Despite the fact that the house itself is structurally sound and reasonably energy-efficient, and that we saved about 10% on the purchase price, the overall experience has been very frustrating.” report abuse

  Working with Jon Grossnickle and his team at Grossnickle Construction was an absolutely fantastic experience. We hired them to build our dream home in Adamstown in 2016, and it truly became the perfect foundation for our future. As first-time homeowners designing a custom house, we really appreciated Jon’s patience and guidance throughout the entire process, especially as we made several design changes. They were incredibly skilled, incorporating our ideas – and even some of their own brilliant suggestions – seamlessly, like the beautiful custom vanities they created from refurbished dressers and the stunning antique barn doors they installed. The team really kept things on track, getting the house completed within about six to seven months, which was crucial while we were living in temporary housing. We did have a few small issues at the end, but they promptly addressed them and followed up perfectly. And, incredibly, Jon even scheduled a revisit a year later to tackle any lingering concerns. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the quality of work and the level of care – we would absolutely recommend Grossnickle Construction and would definitely use their services again if we ever built another house in this area! It’s a shame they don’t operate in Washington state though – we’d be hiring them in a heartbeat! report abuse

  Honestly, after seeing my dad’s experience with Grossnickle Construction – the issues they faced during the build and the finished house – I wouldn’t recommend them for a new home or any remodeling project. report abuse

  Overall, the construction work was well done and they addressed the issues that arose during the project. However, the biggest challenge was the final 6-month repairs, specifically the nail pops, cracks, and water damage from the dryer vent. While they initially addressed these, the drywall tape peeled off within three weeks, the nail pops returned, and the paint didn’t match. It was frustrating that attempts to get them to redo the work were unsuccessful – we never received a return call from two different individuals. Fortunately, Jon followed up on August 24th to discuss the problems, and we were able to resolve the situation ourselves. report abuse

  “I reached out to them a couple of weeks ago to discuss a potential home addition and renovation project, but unfortunately, I haven’t heard back from them at all. Honestly, even if they weren’t interested in the project, I’d still expect a simple reply or introduction to another professional.” report abuse
