“I’ve really enjoyed my year at Specialized Engineering – it’s a fantastic company to work for. The team is so supportive and approachable; I always feel comfortable asking for help with anything. They’re also committed to promoting from within and are really flexible with time off requests. It’s great to see that they value employees who go above and beyond, and they take employee safety very seriously. Plus, the office events are a lot of fun and it’s a really friendly place to be.”

“It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year at Specialized Engineering – it feels like I’ve been here forever! From the very beginning, I’ve been incredibly welcomed and supported. Despite coming in with no prior experience, I’ve been given so many fantastic opportunities to learn and develop, which I really value. I especially appreciate the strong team environment and the company’s focus on collaboration. It’s a great place for someone like me who enjoys continuous learning.”

“My time at Specialized Engineering has been fantastic – I’ve really thrived there over the past 3.5 years. From the very beginning, I was welcomed with open arms and a supportive environment, and it felt like I quickly became part of the team. What impressed me most was the emphasis on learning; there were always opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge. The lab itself is a great asset, consistently expanding the range of materials they can test, and the team is incredibly well-trained and dedicated to delivering accurate results.”
-
“Overall, this is a fantastic company with real momentum – they’re growing while still maintaining a really friendly, close-knit atmosphere. What really stands out is their dedication to building strong relationships with their customers, something they’ve clearly prioritized for years. And it’s not just customers; they genuinely care about their employees, too. They create a really positive and engaging work environment with fun events and team outings, and management makes a point of treating everyone as a valued individual.”

“During my two years with Specialized Engineering in the accounting department, I’ve been incredibly impressed. It’s a fantastic company – a smaller, more intimate environment where everyone’s voice truly matters and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. I’ve particularly noted how quickly new employees develop and advance, which speaks volumes about the supportive culture. Plus, as an employee-owned company, the benefits like the 401K match and frequent team celebrations and engagement activities make it a really rewarding place to work.”
-
“Overall, it was a fantastic experience working with this company, particularly within the 3rd party inspection services they offer. I really valued the opportunity to see such a diverse range of construction sites and to interact with various clients and contractors. Specialized Engineering was the perfect place to launch my career in the construction and engineering field, and I quickly gained valuable experience and earned several certifications that really broadened my skills and the types of projects I could take on.”
-
“Overall, the lab’s technical services are really solid and dependable. The technicians themselves – the people who actually do the work – are consistently friendly and do a good job. However, it seems they’re stretched incredibly thin and don’t seem to be fairly compensated for their efforts. The middle management team could really use some improvement; they’re often difficult to get a handle on and don't always seem transparent about things. While upper management presents a positive and approachable face, it appears their primary focus is on financial gain.”
-
“Overall, this was a really challenging experience. It felt like the company didn't prioritize its employees – the training was lacking, and we were often given extremely short notice, sometimes just 24 hours, with shifts starting as early as 3 am. Frankly, the compensation didn’t feel adequate considering the wear and tear on our vehicles and the limited gas provided. It’s clear why they don’t have company vehicles; the costs associated with using personal vehicles were simply too high.”
-
“Overall, this was a really difficult experience. The commute was incredibly long, often exceeding 40 miles each way, and when my car experienced issues, the company was unhelpful and refused to cover the necessary repairs. Human Resources was unresponsive, and there was a pattern of being told they’d accommodate changes to my schedule, only to be subsequently let go. It felt like the company’s methods were poorly thought out, and the employees seemed to operate under a controlling management style.”
-
“Overall, it was a really positive experience working with them. They’re a great company that clearly values their employees and operates with a strong sense of ethics and professionalism – which was fantastic as a subcontractor.”
