“We absolutely love our new home, which Oliver Homes built for us in 2022. From the very beginning, Greg was fantastic at guiding us through the planning and building process, even though we weren't local at the time. Throughout the construction, the whole team – Greg, Carl, and everyone else – were incredibly professional and always responsive to our questions and ideas. They really took the time to listen to our requests for customizations, and we ended up with a house that’s perfectly tailored to our needs and lifestyle. And after a year of living here, Aaron did an outstanding job addressing any minor issues, ensuring everything was just right. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to choose Oliver Homes.”

Okay, here’s a natural-sounding evaluation based on the text: “We built our dream home on our own land with Oliver’s, and overall, it was a mixed experience. They were fantastic about working with our budget and being flexible with our financial situation, which was a huge relief. Our salesman was helpful, though we quickly realized there were some misunderstandings about the pricing, which ended up adding a significant cost to the project. They were really generous in financing the build, which was great, but we had to be very proactive and attentive throughout the process. Honestly, the biggest issue we had was with the quality of the work. There were a lot of missed details – uneven installations, the wrong fixtures, and generally subpar craftsmanship, particularly with the subcontractors. We spent a lot of time on-site, which was necessary given we were handling the excavation, and it became clear that attention to detail was a real challenge for them. Despite these issues, Oliver’s was willing to address problems and they have a decent warranty. They’re flexible and responsive, and they genuinely want you to be happy. However, you really have to be involved and keep an eye on things. It’s not a ‘set it and forget it’ situation. Ultimately, Oliver’s is a solid choice if you're looking for someone flexible and willing to work with you, but be prepared to put in the work yourself to ensure you get what you envisioned. I’d give them a 6.5/10 – it's not perfect, but they delivered a home, and they're willing to fix things after the fact.”

“We absolutely loved working with Oliver Homes. From the very beginning, designing our new house, through the entire building process, and right up to receiving the keys, the team – especially Mark – were fantastic. We’d wholeheartedly recommend them if you’re looking to build your dream home.”

Overall, we’re thrilled with our new home built by Oliver Homes, which was completed in January. From the initial walkthrough to now, we’ve been consistently impressed. Chris Crespo was fantastic in getting us started and resolving any small issues quickly – we even found a minor cosmetic problem outside just two months in and they had it fixed within days! We’re so happy with our investment and would definitely recommend Oliver Homes to others.

Honestly, we’re incredibly disappointed with our experience building our home with Oliver Homes. We went into the process expecting a high-quality custom builder, but unfortunately, we encountered a significant number of issues with the workmanship, project management, and communication throughout the entire build. The sheer volume of problems, both before and after construction, was completely unacceptable and we cannot recommend Oliver Homes as a custom builder.

“I absolutely love my new home, which was built by Oliver Homes. Greg and the entire team were fantastic – so professional and talented! We couldn’t be happier with the beautiful results and we definitely recommend them to everyone we know.”

Oliver Homes left us with a truly disappointing experience. While they offered a good selection of standard home designs and had samples readily available, we quickly encountered major issues with the materials we chose. Several items we selected on-site were unavailable from the manufacturer, and the cheap flooring they installed is already showing significant wear and tear from our children. More concerning were the serious installation problems. The flashing around the exterior of the house caused water damage, which they addressed with a poorly executed caulk fix. The kitchen cabinets are installed terribly – noticeably misaligned and the countertop and sink are pulling away from the wall. They attempted to cover this up with caulk, resulting in a very poor-looking repair. Beyond these immediate issues, the quality of the materials was subpar. The lumber delivered weeks before framing was warped, and the sub-floor was rough, requiring extensive sanding. We’ve also had to make significant changes, like splitting our living and family rooms due to poorly considered electrical layouts. Throughout the process, communication with Mr. Oliver was virtually non-existent, and we constantly had to follow up on our punch list. Unfortunately, the problems haven’t stopped with the initial build. Five years later, we're still dealing with leaks from the cracked shower pan and soaking tub, drywall issues throughout the house, and ongoing plumbing problems. Frankly, the quality of work is unacceptable, and we’ve found ourselves comparing them unfavorably to builders like Dan Ryan or DR Horton – a standard we expected given the cost of our home.

Honestly, we had such high hopes for our Oliver Home, but it was a complete nightmare. The initial consultant was great – they listened to our ideas and created a detailed plan. However, once construction started, the project manager started changing our requests, essentially lying about what we’d agreed upon and significantly increasing our costs. We ended up paying twice what we should have. On top of that, we didn’t receive everything we’d specified, and the quality of the work was terrible. Shortly after moving in, we had constant problems – leaks in the basement, the siding falling off repeatedly, the sump pump failing, and the foundation cracking. The air conditioner’s supports shifted dramatically, and we’ve had issues with the garage door, shutters, loose tiles, and countertops separating from the walls. It’s a never-ending list of problems. We’ll never consider using Oliver Home again. We also understand they’re part of a religious group, and frankly, we felt completely let down and misled. We expected a much better experience.

“My wife and I recently met with Chris at Oliver Homes, and we were really impressed with their house plans and the materials they offered. It was clear they’re a well-run operation – everything just seemed to flow smoothly.”
-
“Overall, I had a really positive experience working with them. They were fantastic at helping me design a custom rancher for my property, offering a lot of great options and were incredibly flexible when it came to tweaking the floor plan. Honestly, after dealing with several builders, I’d definitely recommend them.”
