“I’ve been really happy with these new owners – they’re fantastic at getting the supplies I need. I even bought all my chemicals from them. I appreciated that they didn't require a water test fee unless I purchased chemicals. However, the recent change to charging $50 for a water test and requiring online scheduling seems a bit much.”

“I’ve been using Custom Pools for years and I can’t recommend them enough! Charlie and his team have always been fantastic – incredibly reliable and they consistently do a wonderful job. Just look at this picture – they really delivered an amazing pool!”

Honestly, we’re incredibly disappointed with the service we’ve received since the Mulvaneys took over. It’s clear the quality has really taken a nosedive. The technician who handled our pool left the lines full of water, which unfortunately caused them to shatter during the winter. To add to that, we went in to purchase hot tub chemicals and were told they no longer carried them. And just this morning, my wife bought three cases of chlorine only to be directed to a pallet of choline – something she would have absolutely fired a staff member for being so dismissive. After 15 years of service, including a major pool remodel and a new liner last year, we’ve made the difficult decision to switch to another company.

Honestly, I’ve been a customer for a while now and I’m incredibly frustrated. The service has been consistently poor – the communication is terrible, and the service itself feels really lacking. To add to that, the prices are just outrageous; $380 to simply open and close a pool is completely unreasonable. Recently, I went in for a water test and the store was unexpectedly closed and only accepting appointments. When I called, I was told they couldn’t help me. Then, I saw they were suddenly offering water testing with limited hours and a $50 fee – it’s just confusing and feels completely arbitrary, especially since there’s another pool store just a few minutes away that offers free testing. And to top it off, I was really concerned by the owner’s responses to some of the reviews I saw online, particularly in Drew’s review. I’m seriously considering taking my business elsewhere.

It’s really disheartening to see what’s happening with this business. It used to be fantastic, but the new owners seem to be struggling, and it’s clear things have really gone downhill. There have been major issues – incorrect pool opening dates, missed appointments, and a general lack of organization. The employees are also voicing their concerns about management, and the way they handled the situation by shutting down the store and asking people to stop contacting them about the errors was just unacceptable. It’s a shame to watch a good business fall apart like this.

“We’ve been a loyal customer of Custom Pools for over 40 years, and we’ve always appreciated their service. This year, we faced some significant issues with our pool, and Custom really stepped up to the plate. The team is fantastic – incredibly friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful. They followed up after the repairs to ensure everything was running perfectly, which we really appreciated.”
-
“I’m really impressed with the service – they’re incredibly responsive and attentive to my pool needs. Any issues I’ve had have been addressed quickly, with a clear explanation and prompt service.”

“I’m really disappointed with the change at Custom Pools. The new owners just aren’t providing the same level of friendly and courteous service that the Mulvaneys used to. Sadly, the quality of service has dropped noticeably, and the prices have gone up. As a loyal customer of over 30 years, I’ve had to look for a different pool provider.”

Honestly, we were really disappointed with the whole experience of getting our new liner installed. We had it scheduled for late April, but we didn't hear anything, and getting in touch with the company was incredibly difficult. I left several messages, but no one ever called back. When I finally went to the store, I was told all the installers were busy. It finally went in late May, and then we had a problem with a piece coming loose. It took two weeks to get a response, and the owner promised to call us on a Sunday – he never did! Thankfully, someone else just happened to stop by and fix it, but the lack of communication throughout the entire process was really frustrating, especially considering the liner itself was great.

“Since the ownership change about a year and a half ago, the quality has really gone down. It’s surprising to see them charge $50 for a simple water test – that seems a bit excessive.”
