  “I can’t recommend James highly enough. Ten years ago, he built me the house of my dreams, exactly how I wanted it, and thankfully, within a reasonable budget. But what’s truly remarkable is the level of service he continues to provide, even years after the build was complete. Six years after moving in, my pool pump suddenly died – the pool company said it was out of warranty, and I was stuck. Luckily, James stepped in and, with his help, the problem was quickly resolved. Similarly, a faulty, expensive aluminum window I had installed cost me $522 each time a repair company came out, and after three years of struggling with the issue, they hadn’t really fixed it. Then, my wine cellar cooling system burned out. James was able to connect me with the right specialist, and it was fantastic. He’s done so much more than just build my home; his ongoing support has been invaluable over the years.” report abuse

  James David Custom Homes did a fantastic job renovating our beach cottage duplex, though it was definitely a challenging project. We hired them about three years ago to tackle a really rundown property, and because we don’t live in California and were overseeing the renovations remotely, we really needed someone we could completely trust. There were a lot of unexpected issues – the project fell into every renovation cliché – but James and his team kept things moving forward, even when costs escalated. What really stood out was James’s calm demeanor and professionalism throughout the stressful process. He was a truly capable manager who expertly navigated the complexities of working with sub-contractors and city officials. Ten months after the renovation was finished, a gas leak was discovered, which was incredibly stressful given our situation. We contacted a random plumber, but James was on it immediately. Within hours, he had a plumber at our house, and the leak was fixed, even with the work extending well past normal business hours. He even had a painter come out to repair the drywall and paint – and they didn’t leave until 9:30pm! It really highlighted the strong relationships they have with their team. James’s initial advice – “you should always call me first with any problems on the house” – proved invaluable, and he’s consistently gone above and beyond for us since then.   I’m absolutely thrilled with the home James David Custom Homes built for us in Huntington Beach. It’s been over five years, and I still get regular updates – he’s always there to help, even with things like figuring out the sewer access. James truly goes above and beyond, not just fixing things, but also taking the time to educate me about how everything works. It’s fantastic!   James, Storm, and Jaime at James David Custom Homes truly made the whole process a pleasure. They did a fantastic job of understanding my vision and turning it into a reality – and I really enjoyed working with them. I felt completely informed and supported, which took a huge amount of stress out of the build. They were incredibly organized, always keeping me updated on the paperwork, communications, and schedule. Honestly, I think it’s important for homeowners to be proactive too, but JDCH made everything so smooth and easy.
