  Overall, my experience with Southside Roofing was really frustrating. I’d been waiting a long time to get my roof replaced, and it finally got scheduled, but then the crew was delayed due to weather – they weren’t even checking the forecast in Lafayette! It felt like they weren't prioritizing my project. While Southside was attentive when I was initially looking for a company and we signed a contract, communication dwindled significantly afterward. I often had to reach out to them myself to get updates, and even the day before the work was supposed to begin, I didn't hear from anyone. Then, on the day they were scheduled to start, they called to cancel – that was completely unacceptable. Honestly, this lack of communication and the last-minute cancellation really shook my confidence in their ability to deliver quality work.   “I wholeheartedly recommend Southside Roofing. After Hurricane Laura, they were absolutely incredible. The team was incredibly busy, yet they responded to every single call and text I sent – it was amazing. Later, I discovered some water damage under my carport, and they immediately sent a new crew out to fix the original work, thanks to the initial subcontractors they’d brought in during the storm. A supervisor was there the whole time, answering all my questions and concerns, and the owner even personally inspected the roof afterward. It was clear they were doing everything they could to get everyone back on their feet. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied, and I felt truly valued as a customer. I’ll definitely be a returning customer and will be recommending them to all my friends and family.” report abuse

John Wayne took the time to explain our estimate thoroughly, and the crew did an absolutely amazing job installing our new roof. They finished the job in a single day, and they were incredibly considerate – they even cleaned up our yard and protected my flowers.   “I just want to say I’m incredibly pleased with the work these guys did replacing my roof. They did a fantastic, professional job – truly top-notch. The estimate was significantly lower than other quotes I got, and I appreciated that they used the quality products I selected. Alonzo, the salesman, was also fantastic – always on time, really helpful, and never pushy. Plus, they finished the job ahead of schedule and did a complete cleanup and took all the debris away.   I’m telling you, steer clear of Southside Roofing. As an emergency physician who’s worked with thousands of people across Louisiana and Florida, I can confidently say this company is not to be trusted. I was promised a start date six weeks ago, but neither of the two houses they were supposed to work on had even received their materials. It’s completely misleading and, frankly, dishonest. It seems Billy Savely and Coty Richard are just trying to take advantage of people. While I've been focused on helping others prepare for renovations and dealing with emergencies, they’ve been wasting everyone’s time with impossible promises. report abuse

  James Johnson and Southside Roofing did a fantastic job – truly a pleasure to work with. They delivered a quote that was competitive with other companies, and remarkably, finished the roofwork two weeks ahead of schedule.   I’m incredibly disappointed with Lake Charles Southside Roofing. We hired them to redo our roof after Hurricane Laura, specifically wanting architectural shingles – rated for 130 mph winds – to replace the originals. The roof was completed before Hurricane Delta, but after Delta’s 96 mph winds, we noticed a significant number of shingles missing from the back of our house. We were then told we’d have to pay the final bill despite the damage, and the owner’s claim of having “the best warranty in town” meant nothing. To add to the frustration, the salesman, Jesse Edwards, never applied the senior citizen’s discount he promised, and the general manager, Coty Richard, personally said he’d inspect the repairs, but he never showed. We ended up paying an extra $975 out of pocket to replace the missing shingles. To make matters worse, we found that the roofers had dropped roofing nails into our attic, completely destroying our floor. We were left with a huge cleanup and now face the daunting task of having the entire back of the roof redone – a job we won’t be having them do. Their warranty is worthless, and we wouldn’t trust them with anything. report abuse

  I’m incredibly disappointed with this company. They’ve repeatedly failed to pay their roofers on time, and frankly, it’s unacceptable. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend them, and I would have given them a zero-star rating if that were possible.
