  “I couldn’t be happier with the work Goodwood General Construction did on our driveway in Stoneham. We hired them in October 2023 to expand our existing driveway, and I’m so glad I’m finally taking the time to share our positive experience. The driveway has held up beautifully through its first winter, which really speaks to the quality of their work. We found Goodwood through an online search and were really impressed with Henry, the owner, right from the start. Scheduling a visit and getting a quote was incredibly easy – we just texted him and he promptly arranged a time to come by. We chose his quote because it was competitive and he clearly understood our needs, especially regarding the base and pavement thickness. Henry himself has over 20 years of experience, which gave us a real sense of confidence. The team was fantastic – they showed up on Monday with a digger and two assistants and completed the entire job by Thursday. They handled everything perfectly, including removing the old retaining walls and shrubbery, building new Allan block walls, laying the base, and then expertly paving the driveway. The grading is really impressive; you barely notice the slope, and the drainage is great, directing water diagonally out into the street. And, best of all, Henry’s team took care of all the landscaping afterwards – something other quotes had us responsible for. G.C. is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable – he’s been in the industry for 20 years and really understands what’s involved in a project. What really stood out was how approachable and friendly everyone was; it was such a welcome change from some contractors I’ve dealt with in the past. They genuinely cared about the quality of the work and took the time to listen to my ideas and concerns, especially regarding the driveway and brick patio they installed for me. My neighbors were so impressed they’ve now had Goodwood do their driveways too, which I think speaks volumes about their competitive pricing and the quality of their work.   “We recently had a major renovation done to our new home, including completely demolishing and rebuilding our driveway and a retaining wall, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! The old driveway was a real eyesore and safety hazard, and the retaining wall was just plain poorly done. After getting a few quotes, we chose Goodwood Construction, and Henry was fantastic. He was so easy to talk to, answered all our questions, and set a realistic timeline for starting the work in early April. And amazingly, the whole project was finished by April 10th! The new driveway is beautifully paved and level, and the retaining wall is incredibly solid – it looks fantastic. Henry and his crew worked incredibly hard, putting in two long days and were always professional and polite. We’re so thrilled with the quality of their work, and we’ll definitely be calling them again when we tackle some other retaining wall repairs on our property.” report abuse
