“I’m really concerned about the contract terms with Furlong. It seems incredibly unfair to be charged cancellation fees if you’re not obligated to a three-year agreement, especially if you’ve already invested in your own equipment. While I understand the desire to recoup sunk costs, imposing fees without any initial investment feels unreasonable. I escalated this issue to Ty Gilssford, the president, but he wasn’t willing to reconsider the policy.”

“I’ve been a customer for a long time, and frankly, I’m incredibly disappointed. It became clear to me just how unreliable this company is when a major system issue went unnoticed for over a year – they didn’t even seem to know we were being monitored. I had to call the monitoring center myself to avoid involving the police because of a malfunctioning alarm. Instead of taking responsibility, they immediately blamed me for not testing the system regularly and refused any refund. They even tried to push a new, more expensive system on me. It’s clear they’ve lost their focus and commitment to customer service; they seem only interested in their local reputation. I’m switching to a new provider, and I strongly advise others to consider their options – this company is no longer trustworthy.”

“I can’t recommend Furlongs highly enough! Paul and Colby were both fantastic – Paul really took the time to plan everything out for our upgrade, and Colby was incredibly patient and professional during the installation and explained the whole system so well. It was a wonderful experience overall.”

“Overall, I’ve had a really positive experience with Furlongs. Paul is fantastic – he’s easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with. The rest of the office staff are also great. However, I wasn't thrilled with the two technicians who initially came to address the repair issue, and the owner did eventually come out to discuss it, which was helpful.”

I’ve seen this pattern before – new clients tend to push for higher returns, often through expanding services or increased fees, and that can really disrupt the established, comfortable relationship we’ve had for so long. I sincerely hope they maintain the same focus on value that I’ve come to expect.”

Specifically, after using their service for five years, I ended up facing extra fees for upgrading my equipment to maintain the monitoring and, ultimately, a fee to actually cancel the service.”
