  I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience purchasing Hunter-Douglas PowerView shades from Interiors & Textiles, specifically Fred Wee. We bought three of these motorized shades in 2017, initially lured in by the store’s promise of “Diamond Customer Service.” Despite getting a cheaper quote from another retailer, we went with Interiors & Textiles, and unfortunately, the shades quickly proved to be a major headache. Within a year, all three shades failed – plagued by motor issues, connection problems, and poorly designed remotes that constantly lost power. Adding to the frustration, the shades were covered in mold, and we were entirely responsible for the return shipping, which involved a significant amount of wasted time and money. Fred Wee never offered to assist with the returns or troubleshooting, and his lack of responsiveness, even to Hunter-Douglas, was completely unacceptable. Now, after four failed attempts, Hunter-Douglas is sending us a replacement part, but this entire ordeal highlights a serious lack of customer support and a fundamentally flawed product. I strongly advise against buying from Interiors & Textiles – Fred Wee’s “Diamond Customer Service” is a complete facade. report abuse

  “I recently used Fred and John to install engineered hardwood in my garage, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They were really competitive on price – significantly lower than other flooring stores I checked out. The floor itself looks fantastic, and they did a really neat job with the edging too.   “I was really pleased with my hardwood flooring purchase from Interiors & Textiles. I’d done a lot of research and shopping around, and while T&I wasn’t the absolute cheapest option, the service I received was fantastic. Fred was incredibly helpful – friendly, really knowledgeable about the different types of wood, and he took the time to explain everything to me without any pushy sales tactics. He just wanted to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. Honestly, the level of care and attention they provided was well worth the small difference in price compared to some of the big chain stores.   I am incredibly disappointed with this vendor’s performance. We hired them in mid-July to install Kahr HW flooring for $35,535, putting down a substantial $26,650 deposit. We clearly communicated our need for the job to be completed by August 13th, before our children’s school started, and they assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. However, the work began on July 30th and abruptly stopped on August 10th due to a critical lack of materials – eight boxes of flooring, stair noses, a reducer, and molding. The vendor initially claimed the issue was with flawed original planks, but the real problem was a severe shortage of wood, preventing completion of entire landings and staircases. After reordering, they estimated a four-week wait due to COVID, restarting the work on September 11th, only to halt again the same day because the stair noses’ color and texture didn't match the specified flooring. Despite acknowledging a quality issue, the vendor has repeatedly deflected responsibility, blaming the distributor and a third-party supplier. He offers no timeline or plan for resolution, simply stating he’ll “follow up daily” – which has yielded absolutely no progress. We proposed paying for the unfinished work and hiring someone else to complete the job, but he insisted the contract didn’t specify a completion date and therefore he wasn't violating it. It’s been over three months, and our house remains unfinished – two landings and four staircases are bare. This vendor demonstrates a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and a willingness to avoid responsibility. Frankly, it’s unacceptable to be left with a significant investment and a house essentially incomplete. I strongly advise against choosing this vendor unless you’re prepared to navigate a lengthy and frustrating process. report abuse

  Fred was fantastic to work with during our home remodel! He really listened to what we were looking for in a new carpet and helped us find a beautiful, high-quality wool option that even our cats didn't bother with. We especially appreciated him bringing samples to our house so we could see how they looked in our light, and he even measured and stored the carpet for us. The installation team was also incredibly professional and took great care with the details, like the borders around the wood and tile. We highly recommend Fred! report abuse

  “We absolutely love our new window shades! Tom, the installer, was fantastic – he arrived early, checked to see if it was okay, and finished the job in just under an hour. He was so thorough, cleaning up everything and even taking all the packaging with him. The shades themselves look absolutely stunning, especially the cellular shades in the living room – they’re truly breathtaking! We were a little hesitant about the cellular shades in the bedroom, but they’re surprisingly beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.” report abuse

They consistently understand our specific needs – from light control to energy savings – and deliver exceptional results. We recently expanded our motorized shades, adding four to our existing 20+, including a particularly tricky skylight installation, and they handled everything flawlessly. Because of their expertise, we’re now converting all our manual shades to motorized, and they even took care of setting up the remotes and automations for us.   “I had a really positive experience working with Fred at Interiors & Textiles to install Hunter Douglas shades a year ago. I’m a pretty thorough shopper when it comes to something like this, and I really appreciated Fred’s approach – he was incredibly helpful and never pushy, just happy to answer my questions and let me take my time making a decision. He even went above and beyond by coming to my house on his day off to do a full walkthrough, take measurements, and show me the catalogs in person. He left the catalogs with me until the next day, which I thought was a fantastic gesture. Despite a slight mix-up where I initially ordered bottom-up shades but they arrived as top-down shades (my mistake, admittedly), the whole process was handled smoothly and efficiently. And then, after enjoying the blinds for a while, I noticed some tape on a few of them. To my surprise, Fred and the team replaced all three with the damaged one, completely free of charge! Overall, I was very pleased with the service and would definitely recommend Interiors & Textiles.” report abuse
