  “I’ve been incredibly pleased with Makeover Construction for the last 15 years. They consistently deliver exactly what I ask for, and they’re always very prompt with their work. As a realtor, I’ve actually recommended them to many of my clients, and they’ve become repeat customers – which speaks volumes! Julio, the owner, is a fantastic guy – honest, fair with his pricing, and really willing to work with any changes we need. I recently had a full bathroom renovation done, and it turned out absolutely amazing. The architect’s original design was great, but Julio suggested a tweak that was brilliant. The heated floors and shower are just perfect. You can tell everyone there knows their stuff. I was so impressed that when I needed help with a smoke detector for my elderly neighbor, Julio sent over his electrician to fix it – completely free of charge! He’s a genuinely wonderful person, and I always enjoy dealing with him.” report abuse

  “I honestly don’t know what I would have done with the house we bought in 2022 without Julio and his team. It’s been a real rollercoaster, and I truly believe they were the key to me still having a home. They’ve tackled every single issue – and they’ve been there for me through it all for over two years, offering a listening ear and reassurance that everything would eventually get fixed. They’ve gone way beyond just being contractors; they’ve really been like therapists! I remember one particular situation – the house leaked terribly. Julio spent an entire year working with us, meticulously investigating where the water was coming from. We tore down walls, repaired termite damage, and even worked on the roofs. Finally, we discovered the problem was missing flashing between our house and the neighbor’s. The real challenge was that the neighbor had a roof deck, and we couldn’t access it to fix the issue. Julio consistently met with both me and my neighbor, walking her through the problem and explaining that she was also experiencing leaks that her tenants hadn’t informed her about. He handled the whole thing with such care and sensitivity, and she eventually realized the urgency and agreed to remove her roof deck, which we then used to replace our roof. It was incredible how Julio’s communication helped her see the solution – something I never could have managed on my own. She was so grateful for his help that she hired him to fix her roof and damaged walls too! I am so incredibly grateful for the time and dedication Julio and his team put into my house.” report abuse

  “We were incredibly disappointed with Makeover Construction – Julio and Jose-Ricardo – and unfortunately, their work didn’t come close to meeting our expectations for a professional contractor. We hired them for a Level 5 drywall finish, but the quality of the work was really poor from the start. The crew seemed under-trained, used the wrong tools, and left the walls covered in scratches and imperfections – you can see photos to illustrate this. The project took over seven weeks instead of the agreed-upon three, completely disrupting our entire renovation. To be honest, it was particularly stressful as I was seven months pregnant and needed the work to be finished on time so we could move in before the baby arrived. What made things even worse was their lack of attention to detail; they’d leave doors open during the hot summer months, leading to high humidity, a serious pest problem, and even mold growth in our home. When we tried to address these issues, we just kept getting deflected. There was no real accountability or willingness to fix the problems. Overall, the whole experience was disorganized, the communication was terrible, and they simply didn’t follow through on their promises. We wouldn't recommend Makeover Construction – we really urge anyone considering them to do thorough research first.” report abuse

  Honestly, we had a really terrible experience with Makeover Construction – Julio and Jose-Ricardo. We hired them to do some drywall work, and unfortunately, it was nowhere near up to par. From the start, the quality of their work was poor, with a lot of visible scratches and imperfections on the walls. The project took nearly three times longer than originally promised – it stretched out for over seven weeks – and their lack of organization caused major problems with our entire renovation. To make matters worse, they were incredibly careless. They left doors open in the middle of summer, which led to a huge increase in humidity, a serious pest problem (including mice and flies), and even mold growth in several rooms. When we tried to bring these issues to their attention, they didn't take any responsibility or offer any solutions. It was clear there was a serious lack of leadership and project management; communication was poor, promises were broken, and no one seemed to be taking charge. We wouldn't recommend Makeover Construction – either avoid them completely or proceed with extreme caution. report abuse
