  I had a really frustrating experience with this shop. I brought my truck in after a carrier bearing failed, and after three weeks of repairs, the nut they installed just backed off, causing significant damage to my truck. To make matters worse, they refused to cover the cost of the repairs or the tow bill, and now they’re even refusing to stand behind their own work. Honestly, it was a terrible experience, and I wouldn’t recommend using this shop for any repairs. report abuse

I’d been so stressed after just two days back on the road after being in the shop at Nextran for three weeks, but these guys got my rig running great in no time.   “I can’t say enough good things about this Volvo shop. They’re truly the best – always going above and beyond to make sure I’m taken care of. I was shocked when they fixed my truck for just $400 when other places were quoting me $3,000!   “I had a really positive experience at this shop. They were so friendly and got my husband’s car fixed incredibly quickly – they diagnosed the issue and had him back on the road the same day! It was a little on the pricier side, but honestly, it wasn’t significantly more than other shops in this area, and the service was fantastic. I definitely recommend them!” report abuse

However, we were incredibly impressed with Shawn, Rob, and Starr – they were so professional and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of.   “Honestly, this was an incredibly frustrating experience. They took eight days to replace just one gasket, and in the process, they essentially rebuilt half of my truck. Initially, they kept having trouble getting parts, ordering them from Reno and then discovering they hadn’t received everything. It wasn't until the next day that a driver from my company brought the missing pieces, and even then they were closed for the weekend. Then, on Monday, they managed to break a bolt in the collector, initially blaming it on themselves, then claiming it was rust – a completely shifting story. Adding to the chaos, they needed a new collector, which another driver brought, but they ultimately left my truck unfinished after promising to finish up for the day. Everyone seemed to be making excuses, and it felt like a complete lack of responsibility. I strongly advise against going here – if you have any other options, please choose them.” report abuse

  I just wanted to share a really positive experience I had with Tri-State in Rock Springs. As a company driver with NV Transport, I needed some urgent on-the-road repairs twice, and Robbie and the team were absolutely fantastic. On the first visit, Robbie was a lifesaver – he quickly located the part and even installed it himself while their shop was backed up. Then, on the second occasion, Jessie, the lead mechanic, was incredibly helpful, explaining everything about my Volvo engine, providing detailed rebuild quotes, and giving me some really valuable troubleshooting tips. Dave was also great, taking care of things like installing a thermostat and adjusting my hood and brakes. They were all so down-to-earth and focused on getting me back on the road quickly. Their hourly rate of $125.00 is reasonable for an authorized Volvo dealer, and I truly appreciate their attention to detail and the fact that they took the time to educate me about my equipment.
