“John and his team were absolutely fantastic to work with. It was a really unique project – John’s background is filled with incredible design talent, from his own childhood drawings to his family’s expertise in architecture and interior design. Bringing all those different perspectives together was a challenge, but they handled it with such skill and grace. The result is a truly stunning home – dramatic, artistic, and perfectly comfortable. We couldn’t be happier with the work and wholeheartedly recommend them.”

“We started with a dream of a screen porch, and the Grable team truly brought that vision to life – though it ended up being quite a transformation! They essentially created a stunning, open and spacious living area by incorporating almost the entire front of our house with a beautiful glass addition. It’s amazing how they managed to bring the unique beauty of our surroundings inside. John, Matt, Javier, and Krystal were fantastic to work with; they listened to our ideas and really helped us expand on our vision. We’ve been absolutely thrilled with our home for the past five years.”

“I’ve been so pleased working with John Grable and his team over the last 18 months to restore our family home, originally designed by Cy Wagner and built in 1967. They’ve been incredibly supportive and understanding of the emotional significance of the house, and they’re doing a fantastic job of honoring its original design while updating it for modern living. We’re really excited and plan to share the finished project with you all next year!”

John Grable is, without a doubt, the best architect I’ve worked with in South Texas, particularly if you’re looking to restore or renovate a mid-century modern home with genuine care and respect. His designs are incredibly detailed and actually look exactly as they were drawn up – a rare thing these days. I also want to stress the importance of having an architect who actively manages the contractors. John handles that aspect of the project flawlessly, ensuring his vision is brought to life accurately. Honestly, clients who try to get too involved and micromanage often end up unhappy, not realizing their own interference could be the source of the problem. It’s best to let a true professional, like John, take the reins and do what he does best.

“I can’t recommend this team enough! They were fantastic to work with, truly understanding our vision and creating a stunning, open kitchen/living/dining area that’s exactly what we’d hoped for. Their dedication and smooth project management made the whole experience incredibly enjoyable – a beautiful, modern space that perfectly fits our lives.”
-
“I completely agree with all the positive reviews – John Grable’s work really elevates the whole neighborhood. As a property manager, I’ve consistently noticed that properties near his developments see a significant increase in value and rental rates after he completes a project. If you’re looking for something truly custom designed, you absolutely should contact John Grable.”

“We’ve been so lucky to have JGA’s piece of functional art in our lives for the past five years. It’s become completely integrated with its surroundings – exactly what we hoped for when we first envisioned it. It brings us and our family so much joy. It’s really wonderful to see how Raeamus Wern & Gert Wingardh put it, that architecture, and things like JGA’s work, can endure and become part of a place’s story. We’re incredibly proud to know that this piece will be something we can pass on to our children and grandchildren – a lasting part of our family’s history.”
-
“This team consistently impressed us with their unique blend of practicality and design flair. They truly understood our needs while bringing a beautiful, almost poetic, vision to the project – making them, without a doubt, the best boutique firm we’ve worked with in San Antonio.”
-
“I was really pleased with Grable Architects – they had excellent taste in the drawings and color selections for my previous homes.”

This project really nailed the design – it was fantastic!
