  Working with RemodelWerks was truly a fantastic experience. They completely gutted and renovated our entire house – an addition, switching from oil to gas, electrical work, a whole roofline change, and completely redesigning the layout. Honestly, they tackled every single inch! The team, including Joe, Mike, Joel, and Andy, were just incredible. They were all so honest, hardworking, and genuinely passionate about their work and about making sure we were happy. They expertly guided us through the complex design and permitting process, oversaw the build itself, and even continued to be available and dependable once we moved in. We’re absolutely thrilled with the result – it’s even better than we ever dreamed possible, and we now live in our perfect home. They recently completed a six-month renovation, update, and expansion of our New England cottage, and they managed to maintain that lovely, cozy feel we were after. What really set them apart was their approach. Communication was incredible; our project manager was consistently on-site and kept us fully informed with weekly email updates and a really helpful project management system. And they absolutely stuck to their deadlines! Beyond that, Remodelwerks went above and beyond with their planning. They took the time to thoroughly investigate potential challenges with our property, bringing in experts and doing some significant research to uncover any surprises before we even started demolition. It felt like they were truly invested in minimizing stress and making the whole process about informed decisions. I also really appreciated the full-service design support they provided through Emily’s Interiors – they walked us through every detail of the interior design and recommended some fantastic local businesses for everything from upholstery to tile. But honestly, what impressed me most was the team itself.   “We had a really frustrating experience with RemodelWerks and Joe. We were looking to remodel our basement, and Joe provided an initial estimate of $135,000 - $145,000 after a thorough visit and assessment. While that was a significant investment, it seemed manageable. However, things quickly went wrong. Joe insisted on a $9,000 upfront payment for the design phase, which immediately raised a red flag. Despite our questions about potential increases, he assured us it wouldn't happen unless we requested expensive upgrades. Six weeks later, we received a completely new estimate of $186,000 – a shocking $46,000 increase! Joe wouldn't budge, claiming we were asking for too much. The only solution he offered was to drastically reduce the project by removing the bathroom and kitchen. To add insult to injury, when we requested a refund of the initial $9,000, he refused. We ended up out $9,000 with unusable drawings and some very unpleasant interactions. We strongly advise against using RemodelWerks – it’s a recipe for wasted money, time, and a lot of stress. If you're just looking for basic design services and 3D renderings, it might be a different story.” report abuse
