  We hired this firm in the summer of 2020 to design our new home in Florida, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating and ultimately unsuccessful. We worked closely with Principal Andrew Bechtold, outlining our budget and desired square footage. Despite his assurances that the firm would keep us informed throughout the entire design process, we received no updates after our initial meeting. We bounced between different team members, and communication completely broke down. The plans that came back significantly exceeded our budget, and when we raised concerns, the firm insisted the design was within our limits. As the project progressed, it became clear that no one from the firm was actually consulting with our builder. Finally, after the plans were finalized in December, it was revealed that no one had ever communicated with our builder regarding construction costs – our builder estimated the project would cost twice our initial budget. The firm’s owner, Mr. Thomas, then admitted we were given plans for a “million dollar house” despite our stated budget, and claimed the design had “gone off the rails.” When we asked about a solution, he simply demanded we pay the remaining balance to have them create a new set of plans – a completely unacceptable outcome. The lack of communication and disregard for our budget was deeply concerning and left us feeling completely let down. report abuse

  “I cannot recommend this firm. From the very beginning, they presented a very low initial price, but then added numerous unexpected fees once we were committed to the project.
