  Overall, working with Sashya and her team wasn’t quite the right fit for me. It was a smaller project for me, and as a relatively new homeowner with very specific tastes, I found it challenging to communicate my vision clearly. We went through several design revisions, which I know must have been a lot of extra work for them, and I regret not being able to see the furniture selections before they were delivered. We also went considerably over the original budget. On the plus side, Sashya and her team were incredibly responsive and have a fantastic eye for design – they selected really high-quality products and were willing to be flexible. However, there were a couple of issues. I was worried when they dismissed a concern about a movable sconce not being properly secured, and it unfortunately fell, thankfully without causing any injury. Another problem was that the window shades weren’t chosen with the windows' functionality in mind, and I ended up paying extra to have them re-ordered so I could actually open them. I felt bad about having to return selections after they’d arrived, given the effort they put in. Ultimately, my design preferences didn’t quite align with theirs. I’ve since found a designer who’s a much better match for my needs, and I’m confident Sashya and her team would be a great fit for many other clients. report abuse

  Sashya Fernandes was absolutely fantastic to work with on my home in Cambridge. From the start, I was looking for a designer who really understood both the technical aspects of interior design and was happy to collaborate closely on my vision – I had lots of ideas! Sashya really hit the mark, and her style, with its clean, minimalist feel, beautifully balanced my own more eclectic tastes. She clearly has a real passion for design and architecture, which I felt was crucial, and she was incredibly resourceful, using her network of local artists and creatives to come up with some truly inventive solutions. She was also incredibly patient and accommodating, always taking my specific ideas into account.   Working with Sashya and the team at ID8 was an absolute pleasure. From the initial design stages for our new home, through selecting everything from the fireplace stones to the light fixtures and flooring, Sashya really understood what we were going for. She quickly grasped our vision – a modern yet classic space that felt like a warm and familiar reflection of our childhood – and brilliantly translated it into a cohesive and beautiful design. Sashya’s connections with vendors were fantastic, allowing her to source materials quickly, and she was incredibly diligent, carefully inspecting the installations and expertly negotiating any necessary corrections with the vendors.   “We absolutely adore our home – it was built with such a clear vision from the start, focusing on bringing the outdoors in. From the abundance of natural light and the L-shaped design, to the two amazing ‘nanawalls’ and the radiant floor heating, everything was designed to create a truly biophilic space.   Sashya did an absolutely fantastic job transforming our entryway – it was a really challenging space to work with, but she came up with such a clever and beautiful design. We were so impressed with the result that we then asked her to help us design our breakfast nook and sitting area, and it turned out absolutely stunning. We’ve been getting so many compliments on it, and even better, it was featured in a local and national design publication!   Working with iD8 Design Studio and Sashya Thind Fernandes was absolutely fantastic – we couldn’t have done our large home renovation project without her! Living in Chestnut Hill/Brookline, we were so fortunate to find someone who truly understood our vision and helped us bring it to life.
