Overall, I had a really positive experience at the Concord auction. I appreciate the professionalism and cleanliness of the employees – they were fantastic. Honestly, I think some of the complaints I’ve read seem to misunderstand how auctions work. You really need to do your research and be attentive when bidding, as I learned when I missed out on a great tile deal because I wasn't focused. It's true, auctions start with the basics, and the starting prices are high, but it’s expected you’ll negotiate them down. Also, the company isn’t responsible for catering to specific food preferences; it’s an event venue, and food prices are generally higher there. I definitely plan to attend another auction by this company in the future. report abuse

Okay, here’s a natural-sounding evaluation based on that text: “I found some good deals on this site, but honestly, how much you save really depends on how low you bid. I ended up saving only a small amount compared to the regular price, so it wasn't really worth the effort. Also, I’d really advise being super cautious. The barns have better deals, but you absolutely need someone you trust to watch your winning bids – there are a lot of dishonest people, and the seller doesn’t seem to care or offer any protection. You won't get your money back if something goes wrong. And finally, you’ll usually have to wait until late at night for the auctions to get to the better items.” report abuse

“I’ve been a Peaks customer for the last eight years in Virginia, and I’m really disappointed with my recent experience. It’s become incredibly crowded, and unfortunately, the prices have gone up significantly – sometimes even beyond retail – because people seem to feel pressured to make a purchase. I visited a store in Maryland last time and won’t be returning.” report abuse

Honestly, this place is a real gamble. You can get caught up in the excitement of the auctions, but be warned – you’re often bidding on items with problems and they can end up costing just as much as buying new. If you’re not an experienced collector, it’s really easy to get fooled by what seems like a great deal. I had a terrible experience last time, though. I bought a window for over $300, and within 30 minutes, it was stolen from the storage area. The manager was incredibly difficult to reach, and when I finally spoke with him, he was completely dismissive, acting arrogant and basically telling me I was wasting his time over a single window. It was unbelievably rude and showed absolutely no concern for a customer. I wouldn't recommend going there. report abuse

Honestly, my experience was really positive until it came time to pay. The products themselves were great, but the checkout lines were ridiculously long – I ended up waiting about an hour. It was clear they desperately needed more cashiers; with that many people in line, they were seriously understaffed. It’s a shame because it completely ruined the rest of my shopping trip, and I definitely won’t be returning. report abuse

“We absolutely loved the cabinets we got – they were a fantastic deal, and the people running the auction were really great. It’s clear they understand the importance of preregistration, which is key to keeping the lines manageable. Just a note – it seems like having more cashiers would likely increase the buyer’s premium.” report abuse

This was an absolutely disastrous experience. I went in with a clear plan – to snag a bar, entertainment center, and bookshelf – and walked out completely defeated and frustrated. From the start, the process was incredibly slow and disorganized. First, the check-in line snaked around for over an hour and a half, and I ended up with a damaged badge string. Then, the auction itself was a complete mess. They didn’t group items for sale, instead selling individual tools and even light bulbs at exorbitant prices – a screwdriver costing $50! People were bidding ridiculously low amounts, and the auctioneers seemed to be deliberately trying to inflate the prices. I saw someone pay $30 for a case of light bulbs, and another pay $120 for a rug that sells for $75 new. The whole thing felt like a blatant attempt to rip people off. They held my driver’s license hostage, forcing me to wait in line even though I didn’t bid on anything. And to top it off, when I finally managed to get my red rug, they gave me the wrong one! It’s clear this auction model is completely inappropriate. Auctions should offer bargains, not inflated prices and a frustrating, time-wasting process. I wasted five hours and left with a rug that was significantly more expensive than its retail value. I wouldn’t recommend anyone attend this type of auction – stay away! report abuse

“Overall, I was really disappointed. Prices were significantly higher than market value, and then you had an extra 13% charge plus tax on top of that. Adding to the frustration, the transportation arrangements were also quite expensive and difficult to manage.” report abuse

  • Ken Appel

“I was really pleased with my purchase – I found a couple of things I needed and got some fantastic deals while I was there!” report abuse

  • Christine Stoddard

“I’ve always enjoyed going to auctions and have even used them for buying building materials. However, this particular auction wasn’t great – it felt a little slow, especially with all the time they spent sorting through those small items, and we ended up leaving pretty quickly.” report abuse
