  Overall, we were really pleased with Litz Homes and especially with Keith, Josh, and Michele. They were fantastic to work with – always attentive to our concerns, answered our questions quickly, and made the necessary changes to ensure our privacy. Keith was particularly helpful in guiding us through the lot selection process, emphasizing the importance of drainage, and he ultimately helped us find the perfect spot. Litz Homes has a well-deserved reputation for quality, and Keith was actively involved in every stage of the planning and design. They offered a great range of blueprints to suit our family’s needs, and we appreciated their attention to detail, particularly with things like the drywall, roofing, foundation, and tile work – they really focused on using top-quality materials and contractors. We also liked that Litz Homes took care of the landscaping and offered options for exterior finishes, allowing us to create a truly custom home. Finally, we felt confident in their work regarding plumbing, and the team ensured all work met code.   Working with Litz Custom Homes to build my dream home was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the very beginning, Keith and Josh, the president and VP, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, really guiding me through the whole process and always making sure I had the answers I needed. And Michelle, the realtor, was amazing – she spent so much time finding the perfect lot for my house, which was a huge relief. The finished home is just stunning, and the quality of the work is truly remarkable. They paid such close attention to detail, and it shows in everything.   We absolutely love our new home, built by Litz Custom Home. My husband and I started the process back in 2020/2021, during the height of COVID, and Keith Litz and his team were fantastic to work with. They really listened to our vision and created a stunning rambler/rancher with a basement in Hughesville, MD – it’s truly beautiful. We were so impressed with the quality of their craftsmanship, the professionalism of the whole team, and just the incredible workmanship throughout the entire build. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend Litz Custom Home to anyone looking to build their dream home.   “I recently bought a Litz custom-built home, which is only about four years old, and I’ve already needed to make some repairs and want to update the style. I reached out to Litz hoping to get some information about the original plans or at least understand the build details to avoid unnecessary work. Unfortunately, the experience was really frustrating. The realtor they directed me to was completely unresponsive and didn’t pass on my questions to the builder. It felt like she wasn’t interested in helping, likely because she wasn't getting a commission. Because of this, I couldn’t get any answers about the house, leading me to believe the builder doesn’t value their customers or their work. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend Litz for a custom build.” report abuse

  I’m incredibly frustrated with the entire experience, particularly with the builder’s handling of the master suite bathroom doors and the ongoing issues with my deck. This whole situation has been a nightmare. Initially, the overall work was decent, but there was a constant need to remind the team of our agreed-upon plans, and getting responses was a huge struggle. It felt like they were only motivated by their own gain, and they routinely used false excuses – claiming changes to the design – to avoid completing the work after we’d already paid. I should have documented everything, including conversations, to protect myself. The biggest problem, however, was the builder’s incredibly unprofessional behavior. After multiple attempts to fix the poorly installed doors – resulting in the wrong doors being ordered twice – he became verbally abusive, yelling at me and eventually hanging up on my wife. He dismissed my expertise as a mechanical engineer, refusing to acknowledge that the doors could be ordered taller. It was completely unacceptable. I’m seriously concerned about the quality of the work and the builder’s decision to leave me with this substandard finish. If you could review a picture of the doors, I’d appreciate your assessment of the craftsmanship. I’m still waiting for my deck to be finished – nearly seven months after closing – and it's also overpriced and poorly constructed. I feel completely let down and taken advantage of. report abuse
