  “The whole experience with this company was really frustrating. It started with a son of the owner offering to sell us extra asphalt at $4 a square foot, which initially seemed great. However, as they progressed with the driveway work, they suddenly needed more asphalt and drastically increased the price, refusing to communicate this change to us beforehand. We spent the entire time watching my parents argue as they worked, and they kept pushing us for a $10,000-$8,000 cash payment, acting as if we didn’t understand basic business practices like credit card processing fees. My dad owns multiple bars and I run my own company – we know how to manage finances. There was no written agreement, no signatures, and the owner and his brother seemed to be at odds. When we insisted on a credit card payment or threatened legal action, they ultimately switched to that. Frankly, I doubt they’ll follow through with the final top coat they initially promised, and the fact they didn’t even measure the square footage is completely unprofessional.” report abuse

  My mother was incredibly distressed by a recent service she hired. The workers pressured her for cash, which she knew was against the law, and significantly overcharged her for the job. She felt harassed and intimidated by their behavior, and rightly so – she had to contact the police to feel safe and then even questioned whether to provide a bank check.
