Overall, we were incredibly pleased with Pickett Construction’s work on our renovation in Alabaster. We’d been planning a major overhaul of our 30-year-old split foyer, and Josh really helped us prioritize and maximize our budget to get everything done. He was fantastic at keeping us informed and managing the process, and he did a great job of involving my wife in the selections for tile, flooring, and paint. What really stood out was the speed and efficiency of the team – they completed the entire project in just 17 days, even during the holidays! They tackled a huge amount of work, including the new privacy fence, exterior painting, deck re-roofing, window replacement, flooring installation, and interior updates. Josh was particularly responsive, providing detailed proposals for any “extra” requests we had. While there were a few minor punch list items, they were addressed quickly and professionally. The only slight hiccup was with the tile installer who was going through a divorce, which unfortunately caused a couple of small delays – but Josh quickly stepped in to resolve them. We wholeheartedly recommend Pickett Construction – we’ll definitely be using them again, and my daughter has also had great experiences with their work.

I’m incredibly disappointed with Pickett Construction. After working in the construction industry for 50 years, I can honestly say they’re the worst general contractor I’ve ever encountered. Their skills and team simply aren’t up to par, and they failed to meet any reasonable standards. Specifically, they completely botched a recent project, resulting in significant issues. They attempted to install two metal roofs, both of which failed building inspection, leading to substantial damage and a major delay. Because of this, I strongly advise anyone considering working with them to have an attorney draft a detailed contract and insist on a surety bond to protect your investment. It’s shocking how far their quality has fallen, especially given their previous reviews.

“Overall, we were really pleased with the work they did on our chimney – both the painting and the repairs. It was a good job, though we did need to gently remind them about the caulking we’d asked for beforehand.”

It’s great knowing they’re licensed, insured, and bonded – you can really trust them. They took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and helped us bring our dream home to life.”

“Overall, this business does a fantastic job transforming homes and making them look absolutely beautiful. I really liked that they offer both buying and renting options, and the owner was incredibly helpful and really listened to what I wanted.”
-
“I was really impressed with the service I received. They quickly and efficiently fixed the water leak that caused damage to my ceiling – it was handled both professionally and with a really friendly team.”
-
“I was really pleased with their service. They arrived on time for both jobs I needed done and took the time to make sure I was happy with the work they did.”
-
“I couldn’t be happier with this contractor. They were incredibly reliable, always punctual, and the quality of their work was fantastic. It was also great to work with them – they were very accessible and kept us on budget. Seriously, I’d recommend them without hesitation, and I really hope they continue to be a part of the Alabaster community!”
-
“Overall, they did the job effectively. It’s reassuring to know you can still find a reliable contractor – someone honest and dependable.”
