  “We’ve been incredibly frustrated with our recent window and door installation through Architectural Window Supply, who supplied Kolbe and Kolbe products for a full house renovation in Monrovia. While the windows and doors themselves are good quality, the problems we’ve had with the screens have been a major issue. Specifically, the screen for our large kitchen window, which was installed over a year ago, doesn’t function properly – even light winds cause it to pop out of the frame, letting insects in. Architectural Window Supply initially told us they hadn’t seen this problem, but the manufacturer eventually sent a repair kit. We’re still waiting for the installer to finish the job. And it’s not just the kitchen. The screens provided by Kolbe and Kolbe for our exterior doors have been a constant struggle – we’ve received two incorrect sizes and one that was hinged on the wrong side. We’re currently waiting on the fourth replacement door screen, and frankly, we’re worried the same issues will happen with the large window screen as well. Despite a visit from the Kolbe and Kolbe regional sales rep, Architectural Window Supply hasn’t been able to resolve the problem, and we’re still without screens on our doors or kitchen window. They also wouldn’t offer a refund because the product is custom-made, which is disappointing considering the quality issues.” report abuse

  “We had a really positive experience working with Architectural Window Supply, particularly with Tom Davey. We first contacted them in early 2020 when we were buying our house and needed a new front entry double door – Tom was incredibly helpful, showing us several options and clearly explaining the costs. We ultimately chose a Weather Shield aluminum clad pine door, and I was really pleased with the finished product. Tom even recommended a great contractor for the installation. We then used him again in late 2021 to replace our patio door and widen the opening, and he was just as fantastic – another smooth and flawless experience with a Weather Shield door.” report abuse

  “I can’t recommend Greg and his team at Architectural Windows highly enough. Honestly, I was initially wary of going with a smaller company instead of a big chain, but I’m so glad we chose them. Their prices were competitive, but the real standout was their incredible service. They were with us throughout the entire process, for months even, and were always available to answer any questions or address any concerns we had. In fact, there was a situation where the factory made a mistake – they hadn’t glued a crucial part – and Greg himself personally came out and devised a brilliant solution that’s held up perfectly. They went above and beyond, following up with us long after the home warranty period ended with truly personalized service.   “We ordered a fiberglass door from Archwin in Annapolis hoping for a quick turnaround, but unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating. Valerie initially assured us the door we chose was a ‘quick ship’ item, and we were told we’d receive it within a couple of weeks. However, every update we got was weeks off, and it finally took six weeks to arrive. This significant delay caused a major setback in our renovation project and resulted in a lot of extra work and costs for our contractor. To make matters worse, Archwin rarely returned our calls or provided timely updates. While they did offer a partial refund on the shipping, it wasn’t nearly enough to cover the extra expenses we incurred due to their delays. If you’re considering buying from them, I’d strongly recommend adding extra time to your schedule—way beyond what they initially tell you.” report abuse

  Tom Davey at AWS was fantastic to work with. We were really looking for a modern window style, and he went above and beyond, spending weeks helping us explore different options and refine our choices until we found the perfect balance of style and price. Ultimately, we opted for a slightly more affordable product, but Tom was incredibly helpful in bringing the price down to fit our budget – he truly made the process a pleasure. report abuse

  “I was really pleased to get a custom-made Kolbe replacement window – it was a 1990 model – which solved the problem of needing to replace all my windows. The original window in the shaded area had rotted, and this was the only one that fit the bill. The price was a bit higher than I expected for a custom order, but that’s understandable. It took about six weeks to arrive, and thankfully, they look like a perfect match to the original windows on the house. I haven’t installed them yet, but they seem great.” report abuse
