  “I was really surprised by the quote – $1175 seemed incredibly high, and then they added an extra $312 just for diagnosing the job. They were pricing it based on the task of running a new stove line, without considering the actual time or materials needed. Honestly, it felt like they were taking advantage of my lack of expertise, and I think the job itself would have only taken an hour or so with minimal supplies – something closer to $150 at most. I’d strongly recommend getting a few other quotes and speaking with someone who charges by the hour; you’ll likely save yourself a huge amount of money.” report abuse
