Efficiency Maine is truly making a difference in Maine – they’ve been a real leader in cutting down on energy use across the state. It’s clear they’ve done a fantastic job not just identifying key areas for improvement, but also ensuring high quality in their work. We should all be urging our representatives to support increased funding for this agency; it’s the best way to help Maine move towards greater energy independence and lower energy bills for everyone.

“Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Efficiency Maine, especially thanks to the Saturday morning inspection and the helpfulness of Representative Shawna – I’d definitely rate it outstanding!”

Honestly, this hybrid water heater just didn't seem like a good investment. The initial price was significantly higher – around $1600 – compared to a standard water heater at just $500. Considering that the Maine rebate wouldn't really offset the difference, it essentially eliminated any potential long-term savings. It just didn’t make sense to pay so much extra for the efficiency benefits.

It was such a relaxed and fun experience – definitely nothing to worry about! And it was great to meet someone who loves cats as much as I do!

“This person was fantastic – really professional, courteous, and they clearly put a lot of effort into their work. I really appreciate their thoroughness and the positive attitude.”
-
“I was really frustrated with my call today. It took nearly 25 minutes to get basic questions answered, and I was on my own with only one person who didn’t speak English fluently. While they were excellent at transferring me to other departments, it didn’t ultimately resolve my issue.”

This program with the Greenlite LED bulbs was promising, but it’s become incredibly frustrating due to excessive bureaucracy. The initial setup was simple – we just needed to share our sales data with Greenlite through Efficiency Maine monthly. However, now we’ve been told that Greenlite requires our corporate headquarters in Chicago to manually access our system and retrieve the same data we already provide. It’s unbelievable that this extra step is now necessary, and frankly, it feels completely unnecessary and inefficient.

“It was really straightforward – I received my rebate check for the pellet stove pretty quickly, which was great. Honestly, it’s exactly the kind of efficient process the government should be aiming for.”
-
“I’m really disappointed with the service my husband received. He called four times and wasn’t greeted with a professional, courteous response like ‘thank you for calling Efficiency Maine.’ Given his low income and the significant rebate he’s eligible for on the electric car – a $7,500 rebate on a $50,000 vehicle – it’s frustrating that the interaction felt so impersonal. With six children, we desperately need a house and it’s hard to feel supported when the initial contact isn’t helpful.”
-
“I absolutely love this program! I was really impressed with their customer service – they proactively notified me when there was an issue with my washer rebate and promptly sent out a replacement check. It was a fantastic experience.”
