  “We were really disappointed with our experience. We hired this company for a site visit and consultation on our commercial project, and it felt incredibly misleading. The consultation was conducted via Zoom, but the consultant showed us photos of our site that they refused to provide to us directly. He hadn’t actually visited the property himself and based his entire assessment on these photos. He pushed hard to get us to sign a design contract, which seemed completely inappropriate without seeing the project firsthand. Asking for the photos taken by his staff to review was met with a further charge of $600, adding up to $1250 for a consultation that was essentially useless. Honestly, we wouldn’t recommend this company – it felt like a significant waste of money and a completely unprofessional approach.” report abuse

  “Overall, I was incredibly pleased with the structural engineering firm. From the start, they were the only company that took the time to thoroughly assess the foundation with an X-ray – that really gave me confidence in their expertise and the viability of the project. Throughout the renovation, they consistently went above and beyond, providing detailed, construction-ready drawings and happily accommodating all my revisions.   “I can’t recommend A1 Engineering. I hired them to design the structural frame for my house, and I’m now facing a really frustrating situation with a lot of significant problems. As a builder, you absolutely need reliable engineering documents, and A1 just didn’t deliver. Throughout the project, I had to work with three different engineers – it seemed like they were constantly changing staff, which is incredibly disruptive for a project like this. After discovering several errors, I requested a review, but the problems persisted, which was extremely concerning. I hired them as an engineer and expected accurate work, but it became clear that was too much to ask. Ultimately, mistakes led to a costly correction of over $8,000 due to conflicting material specifications. They initially seemed receptive, but once it was clear the errors stemmed from their process, they went completely silent about any potential compensation. It’s absolutely vital that an engineering firm stands behind its work, and A1 clearly doesn’t. They even misled me – saying they’d follow up with emails that never arrived. I felt completely abandoned. Despite my calm and respectful approach, they refused to take responsibility. Honestly, I’d urge anyone considering using them to find a different firm. Sound engineering is simply too important to risk.” report abuse

  “I’m incredibly frustrated with this process. We’ve been waiting over a month for the final drawings, and now they’re demanding payment for a revision – a revision that was entirely their mistake. Worse yet, they’re refusing to release the drawings until we pay up, and they haven’t returned any of our calls. This is seriously delaying my home refinance, and I need those drawings to proceed.” report abuse

  “I initially got a quote from them for framing and foundation design, and I really liked what I saw. I let them know I wanted to move forward. They requested my phone number to discuss things further, which I happily provided. However, I never heard back – not a call, not an email. I spent the next five days repeatedly trying to reach someone, but it was incredibly difficult; their phone would just ring and ring without anyone answering. Eventually, after a huge wait, I finally got through, only to be told my contact person was already on the line and would call me back. Of course, she never did. It was frustrating because this wasn’t about the timeline for the work itself, it was simply about getting a response and confirming the job.” report abuse

  It’s a really lovely spot – that rooftop patio is fantastic. The only thing is, it’s a bit tucked away; a little further from the main area, so it doesn’t get as much foot traffic. report abuse
