  I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Lumina Solar. Honestly, I went into researching solar completely uninterested, mainly because of rising BGE electric rates, but Lumina stood out from the start. I met with three companies in September 2023, and Andrew Cimino was fantastic. He arrived prepared with a detailed 3D design and aerial view of how the panels would look on my house, along with a projection of my potential savings over 25 years. The software they used was really impressive, and his proposal was incredibly thorough. He patiently answered all my questions, and the quote was very competitive. After months of research, I finally decided to move forward, and Andrew provided an updated design – a 29-panel (REC Pure 405w) 11.75 kW system with Enphase iQ8M inverters. From there, it was unbelievably smooth. Lumina handled *everything* – from getting approval from the HOA to securing permits, navigating BGE’s net metering, and even applying for the Maryland Grant. Each step was managed by a dedicated point person, with seamless communication throughout. Even when Andrew was out of the country on vacation, he continued to monitor the progress and kept me updated. The team, including Catie M, went above and beyond to answer warranty questions. The installation crew, led by Mike and Jorge, did an amazing job. They were professional, explained everything clearly, and even suggested a way to route the conduit for a cleaner look. It was reassuring to see such care and attention to detail. Now, about a month after activation, I’m loving using the Enphase app to track my energy production. I’m really impressed with how efficiently my system is working! I’m looking forward to seeing those savings reflected in my BGE bill and SREC payments. Seriously, Lumina is fantastic!   I’m absolutely thrilled with Solar – it’s been fantastic! From the very beginning, Gabriel, Brooke, and the whole team at Lumina were incredibly easy to work with and always delivered on their promises. As a single woman, I’ve had some frustrating experiences with other companies, but this was a completely different experience; they were so responsive and helpful. I’m really impressed with the apps for monitoring my solar and powerwall – they’re brilliant. I wholeheartedly recommend Lumina if you’re considering solar. I have a townhome and ended up with 19 panels plus a powerwall, and today, despite the heat in Maryland, the app shows I’m generating 95% of my electricity needs – I’m already so excited to see what my electric bill looks like! report abuse

  I had a really frustrating experience with Lumina’s customer service. On August 12, 2025, I called to discuss solar panel installation for my Baltimore City home, and the conversation quickly turned concerning. The representative, Jordan, immediately told me they don’t do business in Baltimore City due to “permitting issues,” which was strange because I couldn’t find anything on their website indicating that. I asked to speak with a manager, and after a long hold time, Kelly finally answered. What she said was unbelievable – they’re trying to keep a “clean” business pipeline, and Baltimore City just didn't fit their goals. It felt like a deliberate way to avoid explaining the real situation. Honestly, it came across as a dismissive and evasive response. I ended the call right then and there. Based on this interaction, I wouldn’t even consider Lumina for any service in the future. report abuse

  “We’ve finally taken the plunge and gone solar – we realized we’re planning on staying in our house for the long haul, which really solidified our decision. They did a great job explaining the costs and how much I could expect to save over the next 30 years.
