  Gilmore Landscape really understood our space – it was fantastic how they transformed our tricky, city-adjacent yards. They cleverly used a grove of birch trees to create a natural screen, blocking out the school building and softening the sound of the train station. Now, we can just relax in our backyard rock garden, feeling like we’re somewhere completely peaceful, surrounded by beautiful plants like baptisia, lavender, and ferns. The side yard feels like its own little entertaining space with that lovely blue stone patio, tucked away from the big building. We especially loved their focus on native plants and the use of organic mulch – it’s made the landscaping feel so natural and sustainable. They have a real eye for detail, selecting the stone and plants to perfectly complement our house’s colors. It’s amazing to watch everything change throughout the seasons, especially the stunning colors of the plants in the fall! report abuse

  Rob and his team did an absolutely fantastic job for us. We threw them a real curveball with the project – incredibly specific design requests alongside some really unusual terrain, complicated access issues, and frustrating zoning restrictions. Despite all of that, they not only met our needs but actually delivered exactly what we were hoping for, even though we sometimes struggled to fully explain it. Rob was truly exceptional; he was incredibly creative, persistent, patient, and flexible, and he always treated us with kindness. More than that, he’s a great listener and communicator, which made the whole process so smooth. As a gardener myself, I was particularly impressed with their knowledge of plants and how thoughtfully they considered our existing landscape. They clearly have a real eye for design that was perfectly suited to our site. It’s also clear they've carefully selected a talented team – they were genuinely enthusiastic about the work, meticulously thorough, and consistently respectful of our property and our wishes.   Ron and Lisa absolutely love the incredible backyard GLA created for them! They’d always dreamed of a tranquil, natural space to escape the city bustle, and GLA completely brought that vision to life. From the initial consultation, Rob and his team were fantastic – so collaborative and genuinely interested in what they wanted. They really listened to their ideas and offered brilliant suggestions that enhanced the design perfectly. They were also wonderfully flexible, easily incorporating every change and feedback they had. Now, their backyard is a stunning, inviting haven that’s become a favorite spot for entertaining, and their friends and family are constantly commenting on how beautiful it is.   Overall, we were incredibly pleased with the work Gilmore Landscape Architecture did on our yard renovation. Rob and his team really took our vision and transformed it into an absolutely stunning space. We started with a general idea, and they expertly guided us through several design options, always keeping our goals, aesthetic preferences, and budget in mind. What impressed us most was Rob’s communication and problem-solving skills. Despite some unexpected challenges and changes that arose during the project – involving coordinating multiple subcontractors – he kept us fully informed and his proposed solutions were always practical and well-considered. We especially appreciated the design/build approach; Rob and his team were fantastic at both the creative design and the hands-on execution, truly getting down and dirty with the landscaping.   “Gilmore Landscape Architecture was fantastic to have working on our property! My family and I truly enjoyed their presence – they were all so intelligent, friendly, and respectful. Rob, in particular, was amazing. He really understood our vision and completely transformed our yard. What was once a challenging, uneven space with cracked pavement is now an absolutely stunning outdoor area. He created a beautiful kitchen garden, incorporated native trees and plants, and even added a reflecting pond, meditation rock garden, a driveway with grass pavers, and gorgeous gabion rock walls with benches.   I couldn’t be happier with the work Rob, Ian and the whole team did for me. From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive and took the time to really understand my vision for the space – they even spent a lot of time with me during the planning phase. The final design was absolutely beautiful and perfectly tailored to my needs, and I especially valued their willingness to let me take the lead on the hands-on aspects while they handled the more strategic decisions. They were also fantastic from a budgeting perspective; Rob was particularly diligent in exploring different price options and was always open to adjusting costs where needed, which gave me complete confidence in the investment I made.   “Rob and Ian and his team were absolutely fantastic to work with. We undertook a really ambitious project – it involved months of detailed planning followed by a full year of construction, including a lot of hardscaping and the addition of new trees and plantings. What really stood out was how organized and communicative they were throughout the entire process. It was particularly challenging working on it during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, but they navigated those complexities brilliantly. We’re absolutely thrilled with the finished result; we especially love seeing the plants and flowers change and evolve with the seasons – it’s really transformed our garden.
