Brandon did a solid job installing the gas line for my fireplace, and I appreciated his professionalism while he was working. However, I was really surprised by the final bill – $996! He was only at my house for about two hours, and he spent a significant chunk of that time away, shopping for supplies. He explained the cost as $100 for travel, $100 for the shopping time, $200 for labor, $300 for the parts (which I later found I could have bought for around $60), and an additional $296 for profit. Honestly, it felt like a pretty steep price for such a straightforward job, and I’d definitely recommend getting a firm quote beforehand to avoid being overcharged.
