  “We were absolutely thrilled with the work Fresh Start did on our home – they essentially added a significant amount of space, about 25-35%, through a complete renovation and remodel. It was a huge undertaking, and they handled every aspect of the project with incredible professionalism. Throughout the entire process, they were incredibly transparent, keeping us fully informed about the budget and providing frequent, accurate updates. We appreciated how clearly everything was explained, and the subcontractors they worked with were all top-notch – knowledgeable, efficient, and really got the job done quickly. They were particularly amazing when we needed to meet tight deadlines, going above and beyond to ensure we hit our milestones on time. Yes, Fresh Start is one of the more expensive general contractors we looked at, but honestly, it was absolutely worth the investment.   Overall, we were absolutely thrilled with Fresh Start’s work renovating our kitchen, bathroom, and a few other areas in our Bedford home – especially considering we undertook this during the challenging COVID pandemic. We couldn’t recommend them more highly! Everything looks fantastic and functions perfectly. What really stood out was their fantastic communication. Nick and Dan were both incredibly responsive; they answered all our emails within 48 hours, and always provided a clear explanation if there was a slight delay. They were always transparent about any changes to the original plan, and we appreciated how they got everything priced and approved before we added anything. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, from the in-house team to the subcontractors – you really couldn’t fault it. And the team were just so easy to get along with, always respectful and friendly, and they always cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. The only small thing we’d suggest for the future is perhaps a more detailed invoicing system, making it easier to track and categorize expenses. The budget reports were good, but it was a little tricky to compare them directly to the original contract, especially with the extra work and changes. We’d definitely use Fresh Start again for any future renovations – they really took a lot of the stress out of the whole process!” report abuse

  I cannot recommend Fresh Start. My experience was, frankly, disastrous. I was suggested to use their “all-in-one” service, and it turned out to be the worst decision I’ve ever made. We paid a significant premium for their services, and I genuinely hope others avoid the same mistake. The project was delayed by over a year because they failed to file the necessary permits on time. Worse, the quality of the work was shockingly poor – a severely miscut skylight we’ll never be able to fix, crumbling plasterwork that’s required constant re-doing, and baseboards that don’t even remotely match. It was clear this was due to a fundamental lack of accountability and incompetence. Adding to the frustration, both our lead designer and project manager left the company during the four-month project, and they continued to bill us for the problems they created. To make matters worse, we observed that the subcontractors only worked for very short periods – typically just three hours a day. I strongly advise against hiring Fresh Start. report abuse
