Overall, our experience with Mudslingers was really frustrating. They did a good job with the popcorn ceiling removal and our interior painting, which we were happy with. However, the staircase remodel was a complete disaster. Initially, they asked for a large upfront payment, claiming it was to cover the cost of materials. The project started on time, and they took down the old staircase. Then, instead of using maple as specified in our contract to match our floors, they switched to oak, claiming maple wasn’t available. We agreed to the oak, but only if they could match the grain. Once the job was finished, it was clear the oak didn’t match at all, and a different contractor had even done the treads. After months of back and forth, they brought us samples that turned out to be poplar – they’d even left the original SKU label on the wood! Since then, they’ve completely stopped communicating with us. Adding to our concerns, we’ve now realized the new railings are incredibly unsafe. Some of the pieces are too short and not properly secured, and it’s a serious hazard with a toddler using the stairs. It’s clear Mudslingers lacked professionalism, honesty, and a basic understanding of quality workmanship. We definitely wouldn’t recommend them for any carpentry work.

“Overall, our experience with Mudslingers was incredibly disappointing. We hired them to handle a bathroom installation in our unfinished basement, and from start to finish, it was a constant struggle. They struggled with providing accurate quotes and helpful advice – one subcontractor nearly caused a serious issue, and the plumber later confirmed their initial plumbing recommendations were completely wrong. It felt like they weren’t really keeping track of the project, leaving us constantly chasing them to finish tasks, and they frequently sent the wrong people on the wrong days. Frankly, basic project management was missing. Adding to the problems, the initial estimate was wildly inaccurate, increasing by several thousand dollars partway through the job, and they even double-charged us at the end. Communication was almost non-existent; emails went unanswered for weeks, and they rarely provided updates on schedules. It was incredibly frustrating to constantly have to reach out to them, and they seemed completely uninterested in our project – Troy, the main contact, barely checked in on us, and we felt like we were making all the decisions without any real guidance. Because of all this, the job felt rushed and poorly executed, and ultimately, we ended up paying nearly as much as we would have with a more reliable and experienced contractor.”

I was really shocked by the bill I received for drywall work. Back in February, I hired a company to fix some seams and screw heads, and the job took just two hours with only $5 worth of mud used. However, I got a bill for $1600! The owner seemed completely baffled when I questioned it, like this kind of overcharging was standard practice. To try and sort things out, I even offered to quit my job and work for them at $700 an hour – which, understandably, they didn’t find very amusing. Eventually, I managed to negotiate the price down to $900, but it was a hugely frustrating and frankly, outrageous experience. Basically, the work involved two short visits: one with one person spending about two hours applying mud for $5, and a second visit with two people spending another two hours sanding and retexturing a small area. That's a total of four hours of labor, 80 miles driven, and $5 of materials, and yet they charged me $1600. It felt incredibly unfair and like I was being completely gouged.

“I was really pleased with the whole experience – from beginning to end, it was fantastic. The crew did an amazing job with my basement remodel, especially the drywall work. I’m extremely satisfied and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing work done in their home.”

“I hired this team based on a recommendation from my contractor, and I couldn’t be happier with the work they did in my unfinished basement. The drywalling was truly exceptional – some of the best I’ve ever seen, and a significant step up from other builders I’ve worked with. They were incredibly organized, with a clear contract and fantastic communication throughout the project. Plus, they finished the job two days ahead of schedule!”

Mudslingers were fantastic to work with – truly a pleasure from start to finish. Everyone was incredibly prompt and professional, and the quality of their drywall work was outstanding. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in the south metro needing a drywall project done.

“I’ve been incredibly impressed with this company. They handled my ice dam damage in 2018 and again this year, and their service was fantastic both times. In 2018, their estimate was actually lower than my insurance company’s, and they did a really thorough job – they even went the extra mile by popcorned a small area of my basement ceiling without it being part of the original water damage repair! Despite a huge surge in ice dam claims this year, they were able to get me scheduled quickly. My only small issue was a misunderstanding about the removal of the window framing, which they quickly and apologetically resolved by scheduling a carpenter to take care of it. Honestly, I couldn't recommend them any higher, and I'll definitely be calling them again next time we have ice damage!”

“I was really pleased with the work these guys did on my garage a few years back, and I recently used them again for my kitchen remodel. They gave me a fantastic estimate and then installed a beautiful quartz countertop and new flooring – the quality of their work was outstanding!”
-
Honestly, I was really letting the initial mistake – giving them a two-star rating – overshadow the fantastic job they did. Their work is truly exceptional, and I’d absolutely give them a five-star rating. If I could, I’d give them a ten!

This was a really disappointing experience. The individual never showed up for the work and, to make matters worse, sent invoices despite not completing anything. The quality of the work was unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend them.
