  Overall, we had a fantastic experience with J&D. Their work on our Cranberry Township home, which is a unique custom build with a lot of commercial-style materials like dryvit and steel, was truly impressive. Because of the specialized nature of the project – particularly the Dow Corning caulking – we needed a contractor with a particular skillset, and J&D delivered. They expertly applied the caulking, and we were so pleased with the final result, even helping us select the perfect colors to match our dryvit and concrete. They were also incredibly patient, waiting for the ideal weather conditions to ensure everything cured properly. What really stood out was their problem-solving ability. When we had a persistent leak from a window, two other contractors couldn’t figure out the cause. J&D quickly identified the issue was coming from behind the window, and they successfully resolved it. It’s clear they have a deep understanding of these kinds of complex projects. We’ll definitely be calling them for any future work we need done! report abuse

  Honestly, my experience with this company was really frustrating. From the very beginning, it felt like we were just a number. Once our work was scheduled, getting anyone to answer the phone was nearly impossible. To add to that, the foreman just didn't show up one day – and we couldn’t even get a response from the office, let alone a return call. It wasn’t until the job was completely finished, and then they bombarded us with calls for payment for several days. And to make matters worse, the initial promises about lifetime warranties from the salesman turned out to be completely misleading; one warranty didn’t exist at all, and the other required ongoing yearly payments. The only positive thing I encountered was with Mike, the foreman; he was a dedicated and proactive worker who kept us well-informed throughout the project. However, based on my experience, I strongly advise against using this company. report abuse

  I’m incredibly disappointed with the service I received from J & D Home Improvement. I had them complete a basement pump installation in November 2017, and just a little over a month ago, the pump stopped working. I contacted them multiple times – on June 17th and again on June 25th – requesting a service call, but no one ever showed up. It’s been a complete waste of time and incredibly frustrating. I paid for a guarantee to have the issue resolved, and they haven’t even attempted to address it. Honestly, I’m beyond furious and I’m planning to contact a lawyer. I certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. report abuse

  “We had a really disappointing experience with this company. Despite advertising on Christian radio, we felt they lacked integrity. Their salesperson was very persuasive and we ended up putting down a $600 deposit, but when we were unable to move forward due to unforeseen medical and financial circumstances, they simply kept our money, citing terms in the contract.   “I’m incredibly disappointed with this company’s work. They were hired to waterproof my basement and the experience was a complete disaster. They took two weeks, but within the first week they completely trashed my belongings, throwing them around and stepping on them. Then, they vanished without a trace for a full month, leaving me to constantly chase them for updates. I was essentially forced to leave my house unlocked the entire time, which felt incredibly unsafe. To make matters worse, they installed new windows without properly sealing them – I could literally stick my fingers outside! And, of course, despite all this, my basement still leaks. I would absolutely not recommend using this company.” report abuse

  I’m incredibly frustrated with the service I’ve received. They initially made some progress by cleaning the mold and installing a temporary tub, but then they told me it would only take three days to complete the work. After that, I couldn’t get any updates and called to inquire about the delay – to find out they’d removed my stationary tubs and pipes to move them away from the wall, without ever putting them back. Because of this, I haven't been able to use the bathroom in about a week, which is really inconvenient, especially with my 9-month-old son. To make matters worse, I noticed their crew was smoking weed in my garage while I was there before closing on my house. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend these guys – the lack of communication and disregard for my property is unacceptable. report abuse
