“I can’t recommend working with or buying from Knife River. My experience was incredibly disappointing and frankly, quite alarming. From the top down, I encountered a serious lack of professionalism and what felt like deliberate attempts to cover things up. I reported harassment from a colleague, and despite the incident being caught on camera, absolutely nothing was done. To add to the distress, that same employee later damaged my car on company property. When I raised the issue with my supervisor, we were both wrongfully terminated after the individual made false accusations. There was no investigation, no accountability, and it was particularly upsetting given that I was about to welcome a child. Beyond the handling of the harassment and the car damage, I was deeply concerned about the quality of their materials – the concrete they supply is consistently poor, cracking almost immediately. It felt like the company prioritized avoiding problems over addressing them honestly. Overall, Knife River operates with a disturbing lack of integrity and a concerning disregard for its employees and customers. I strongly advise you to explore other options.”

“I was really disappointed with this company. I ordered two loads of concrete, and despite being only 5 miles away, they charged me a ridiculous $550 for each delivery. Almost a third of that fee was just for the delivery itself – it felt completely unfair and exploitative. I won’t be using their services again, and I’ll definitely be advising my friends to avoid them as well.”
-
Overall, the finished driveway looks quite beautiful, but there was a significant issue – a spiderweb cracking appeared just two hours after we’d finished brooming it. While the same mud performed well the following day under similar conditions, the installer advised us that Croell mud held up much better. They also indicated that we should have applied a curing compound, as they wouldn't allow their product to back up. Despite the problem and the recommendation, we were satisfied with the final cost of around $2300. However, it’s clear that finishers need to be aware of the potential for this type of cracking with this particular product – it’s the most affordable option available for a reason.
-
“The staff member in the scales was so friendly and really went out of their way to help me with directions – I felt really comfortable, even though it was my first time visiting.”
-
“Seriously, it’s incredibly disruptive to have them ripping up the sidewalk in Rio Verde so early on a Saturday morning. Thanks for sharing – it’s a frustrating situation!”
-
Night was a really positive collaborator – they consistently communicated well and produced some excellent work, particularly with the mud finishes.
-
“Honestly, it’s a really straightforward operation – a construction company and open-pit mine. If you’re looking for stone, concrete, or asphalt for just about any size job, this is definitely the place to go.”
-
That’s incredibly reckless driving – they’re putting everyone’s safety at serious risk, and could face serious legal consequences.
-
There seems to be a significant lack of accountability among the employees, which is a serious concern.
-
Overall, the service consistently receives high praise for its residential offerings – it’s clear they do a really good job with that aspect.
