The result is truly a dream home; it’s a beautiful balance of classic charm and modern functionality. They really listened to what we were looking for – we wanted a space that could easily host larger gatherings and effortlessly connect our indoor and outdoor areas, and our home perfectly delivers on that. Beyond the architectural plans, Moss introduced us to some incredible vendors who helped us create a stunning space, including a kitchen with gorgeous millwork, beautiful stone countertops, and a custom metal hood.   “Working with Matt and the team at Moss Design was an absolute pleasure! They really took the reins and guided us through every step of our renovation, and the result is absolutely stunning. Our old house had some serious quirks – a mix of outdated renovations and a partial basement, plus a really confusing layout. But Matt’s design completely transformed it. He took this dark, cramped space and turned it into a bright, open-concept home that flows beautifully onto the backyard. It’s fantastic! Matt was so flexible and creative as we explored different design ideas, and he really managed to balance a modern update with the original character of the house. The biggest change – bringing the living space down to ground level and opening it up to the yard – is brilliant. Now we have a bright, airy living room and a gorgeous kitchen, perfect for entertaining. We especially love the clever details, like the custom stairway dividers. And the dormers and clerestory windows really brighten the whole house up.   “Working with Matt Nardella and Moss Design on the SAAGE Culinary Studio was an absolute pleasure. I initially met Matt at one of his presentations, and I was immediately struck by his genuine passion for incorporating reclaimed materials into his designs – it really showed in his previous work. Throughout the entire project, from the initial drawings to getting everything approved with the city and overseeing the construction, Matt and his team were incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable. They navigated the permit process and building inspections with ease. What really stood out was Matt’s approach to working with clients. He listened carefully to my vision and budget constraints, and he was always patient and respectful, regardless of the project’s scale. I felt completely comfortable and confident that he would bring my ideas to life.   Working with Moss Design was an absolute pleasure – they’re a genuinely talented and approachable team who really understood our vision for our new loft. We were particularly drawn to their unique blend of sleek, modern design with those lovely unexpected touches. Moss Design, along with their partner WC Studio, were invaluable in guiding us through a major gut renovation of our Chicago West Loop condo. We especially appreciated working with Matt and Laura, and their whole creative team. Because we’re both artists and needed a very specific space, we wanted a firm that could offer a truly personalized experience, and Moss Design delivered. They expertly tackled our challenges – the limited natural light and the need to completely reconfigure the layout – by brilliantly incorporating large glass panels to create a sense of openness and light throughout the loft. Beyond the fantastic design, they completely transformed the space, adding an extra bedroom and bathroom, and even designed and built several custom furniture pieces that are now beautiful focal points in our home. We really valued their collaborative approach, always consulting with us and even suggesting exciting new ideas.
