  “I was really pleased with Windfree’s work installing my solar panels last summer. The installation itself was fantastic – they were incredibly careful and discreet, getting all the wiring into the attic instead of running conduit over the gutters. They also made the whole process much smoother by handling the sale of my SRECs, which really helped offset the cost. I’d absolutely use them again if I ever need new solar panels.” report abuse

  Windfree Solar was absolutely fantastic – truly the best experience we had with any of the local providers. They really went above and beyond with their professionalism and attention to detail. From the very beginning, they involved us in every step of the design process, making sure the system perfectly met our needs. The entire process, from getting the permits to the final installation and activation, was seamless, and we’ve been running smoothly for 18 months now with no issues whatsoever. I originally wanted to extend our project timeline, and they were incredibly patient and accommodating, always responsive and making sure I felt involved every step of the way. Jack and Adam were both fantastic – truly professional and always kept me in the loop. It’s such a relief knowing you have people you can rely on when dealing with a complex installation like this. And, amazingly, everything went exactly as planned. The system is fantastic, generating loads of power – enough to completely offset our electricity bills, even during the hottest months.   Overall, we’ve been pleased with Windfree – they really did a fantastic job with the installation and made sure everything looked great on our roof. We truly couldn’t have navigated the entire process without their help. However, it’s important to go in with realistic expectations. The installation itself went smoothly, but there were quite a few steps involved beyond that, particularly with connecting everything to ComEd and getting the net metering and rebates sorted out. The biggest challenge has been dealing with the State of Illinois’ REC process – it’s incredibly complicated and it took nearly eighteen months to get any progress. We’re relying on Windfree to handle those interactions, and they’ve been diligent in working with the processor, but honestly, we’re anticipating a long wait for any potential rebates. It’s probably best to assume you won’t receive them quickly. If you’re serious about going this route, be prepared for a lengthy process and be patient letting Windfree manage the interactions with ComEd and the state. report abuse

  “I was really pleased with the whole experience. The installation team was incredibly professional – they arrived on time and completed the job in a single day, which was fantastic. Super helpful too, as Windfree took care of all the paperwork with ComEd and even assisted with filing for tax credits.   Overall, we were really pleased with the entire experience. The team answered all our questions thoroughly and quickly, and we especially appreciated that there was no pushy sales approach. We did encounter a couple of minor issues, but they were quickly and effectively resolved to our satisfaction.
