  Marcus did a fantastic job – we were really impressed that he was willing to travel all the way up to the north shore to assess our property. We had a pretty complex renovation underway and needed someone with his structural engineering expertise to look at the attic rafters and some foundation problems. He quickly understood our goals and then walked us through several really helpful options for reinforcing the attic, suggesting solutions that focused mainly on carpentry. He was incredibly thorough with the basement too, explaining everything clearly and giving us a realistic understanding of what it would take to make the space usable. Thanks to his insights, we were able to confidently move forward with the attic changes we decided on, and we ultimately left the basement as it was.   I can’t recommend Woods Residential Engineering & Inspection enough. After researching a lot of companies, I found Marcus and his team to be fantastic. They quickly and effectively addressed the structural issues I was having with my property, and Marcus was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process.   “I can’t recommend Woods Residential highly enough if you need a structural engineer. I recently worked with Marcus, the owner, on a project with a failing basement structure, and he was absolutely outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable and took a really thorough approach – especially considering the urgency of the situation. What impressed me most was his professionalism and his fair pricing; he could have easily taken advantage of the situation, but he didn't.   Marcus was a really reliable and professional guy. He was very knowledgeable and kept me fully informed about the meeting, even calling ahead to let me know he was running slightly late. Despite the property being quite a distance away, he was punctual and we were able to get straight to work as soon as we arrived. I was especially impressed that he delivered my report exactly when he said he would – I was really pleased with the whole experience and wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again in the future. report abuse

  Marcus was fantastic – he really helped me out with a project at my daughter’s house in LaGrange. I had a contractor assessing a 1897 house and I was a little skeptical about his expertise. Marcus came out and reassured me he truly understood the situation. He’s got a good network of contractors he works with, which was super convenient, though I did notice their pricing seemed a bit higher than my current contractor. Ultimately, they would have likely completed the job much faster, so it was a trade-off between speed and cost.
